Nova knifes have gottan some nice buffs that increase damage and increase range of these tastey little slicing dicers. But the basic melee attacks have been ignored for a while.
The new bonus to mifibe modules is having them being used a lot more, but purely for the jump bonus, sometimes I do get a melee attack off when I'm close enough but I don't know if i hit unless the opponent actually dies.
I don't have a problem with the range of the melee attack (but it could be discussed that it might need a slight range boost), what my main concern with is the area in which players need to stand for your attack to hit.
I'm not sure how I would describe the area as the degree arc facing infront of the character, but it seems very small. What I would like to see is the area your melee attack actually hits increased. Ideally I think it should be somewhere close to a full 180 degree semi-circle in the front of your character, or perhaps even a 240 degree arc in front of your character which would also cover a bit more of the sides of your character as well.
In general this would provide a different flavor to up close combat compared to the nova knife. Where the nova knife strikes out from a further distance, for a higher damage, and in a concentrated area, the regular melee strike would be lower damage, less distance, but would represent a wider area where players are hit because its more fun to actually hit with a melee strike then always miss because people are very easily able to sidestep the attack.
I don't want to bring up real life as an argument for a fake universe game, but it does atleast make sense in the context of this fake game that when you're trying to strike out at someone you would be able to do it in a wider area than right infront of where you're looking.
Even if people don't agree that it should be as wide of an area as 240 degrees or 180 degrees, I atleast expect some of you to agree that it should be wider than it currently is, and maybe something around 160 or 140 degrees would not be too outragious of an area for melee strikes to have an effect. |

For some odd reason the m+¬l+¬e arc is further down then up. What this means is that you can usually swing and hit something below your view, but miss something just above the top half of your screen. I believe this is due to equipment dislodging, but it personally causes me to miss frequently.
Put your flags up in the sky.
And wave them side to side.
Show the world where you're from.
Show the world we are one.
