Armor tanks are appearently now the top tier tanks of choice simply because of their allround performance and the recent buff to armor hardeners (the 30HP passive rep is nice too) and i can actually fit them completely without the help of PG/CPU modules.
Its not that i can build a madrugar with a working armor tank but i can aswell make full use of the 3 highslots it has. The highslot fitting freedom is what makes this thing a complete monstrosity cause you can chose out of the following modules:
-active heatsinks
-active damage mods
-active scanners
-mobile CRU (50WP per spawn)
-fuel injectors
-dispersion stabilizers (once they get fixed to be highslot modules)
Now what do shield tanks have to offer in their lowslots to make them more usefull? Well its a grim and sad display:
-PG+CPU mods
-ammo expansion units
-shield regulators (once they get fixed to be lowslot modules)
So overall they are screwed. They bring less DPS and tank to the field and even have less passive regen then a armor tank. The situation got even worse with the recent large missile nerf which took the only counter away from them. Yes you could make a glass cannon fit but then you are extremely vulnurable vs AV. The dark ages of armor tanks ruling everything are back in full effect. Oh and a tripple damage modded proto PLC can deal 2500HP+ damage vs shields in a single hit. And dont tell me that shield tanks have a chance with 2 gunners cause then i must make the same assumption that the armor tank has 2 gunners.
Bright is the opposite of dark! Who would have thought of that?!

Im actually about to temporarily respec just so when I do play, I can trollolol around in style.
Im thinking Proto Madrugar with MCRU, some small railguns, and maybe a large blaster. I don't know. I suck at tanking but these new tanks are crazy good, and I imagine a minimum of a month before Dropships and AV get the balance pass too.

Honestly the native repair needs to die in a fire.
ITS NOT SO HARD TO FIT A DANG REPAIR MOD, freaking 90% of the caldari armor tank anyway

I feel bad for them. Shield regulators gobble up so much PG, and shield vehicles need PG mods lol.

I don't know about you guys, but I really like this fit for a cheap blaster shield tank:

It's faster and/or more agile than pretty much anything out there and has great tank against AV (dodging PLCs with resists to swarms/forges). For the cost, it does very well. It will lose to blaster Madrugars (I mean, should honestly) but it could take on pretty much every other tank (resistance to missiles and strafing rails, albeit only CQB). I just use it for supporting my team and taking out infantry; it does it much better than my Madrugar fit.
