Why are there so many BPO's running around? Where the fck were you people during the event? I didn't see a single BPO during the event but the day after (yesterday) and so far today they're all over the place. Fcking ridiculous coming in 4th and making less than 200k because 80% of the other team is running BPO's. Which brings me to the fact that nobody minds that BPO's exist as they are in the first place. People will rage their hearts out over someone sitting in the redline sniping with a thale's over "low risk, high reward" bullsh!t; and the devs will nerf the hell out of stuff because of "low risk, high reward".
But everybody is fine and dandy with "no risk, all reward" BPO's, why is that?

What server where you on during the event? The amount of APEX suits I saw running around during that thing was crazy. They were everywhere.

What do we have to do to make you happy?! You're one of the people I've seen complain about "low risk, high reward" redliners. So why don't you answer my question instead of derailing my thread before it even gets started.

Transfer 1 million isk to players you kill during the match with a personalized mail apologizing for whatever items you had equipped at the time and whatever method you used to kill them, promising you won't do it again |

You're question was what, "Why are there so many BPO's running around?" Because it allows players to risk nothing but still achieve something. They will probably perform more poorly in militia gear, but who cares when it costs 0.00 ISK, right?
I'm not fine with BPO's, personally. I would rather have standard gear cost basically nothing* than have BPO's... but it always comes back to one thing...
AURUM. Aurum is worth saccing risk vs. reward, lore, you name it. Aurum is king.
MrShooter01 wrote:Transfer 1 million isk to players you kill during the match with a personalized mail apologizing for whatever items you had equipped at the time and whatever method you used to kill them, promising you won't do it again I have a counter-offer: No.
*: I'm serious. Standard service rifles should be around 200 ISK. Standard dropsuits maybe 750 ISK. Very, very, very cheap.

There are many situations in which I may die, where the circumstances were completely out of my hands: technical difficulties, not enough information, I knew what to do but the game went into slow motion, delayed rendering, and the list goes on.
I find that running BPO makes up for all of that nonsense, and I'm glad BPO is part of the game.
That said, before I had any BPO, I ran MLT gear, and I still run MLT and STD gear, and the cost of a battle to me is around 30k-60k ISK if I lose a dropship and die a few times. If I run BPO then the cost of battle might drop to 15k-45k ISK under the same circumstances.
BPO is MLT and STD level gear. Anyone who uses it does not get the benefit of running ADV and PRO gear.
Suffering the drawbacks of using BPO, a player might save somewhere around 15k-30k ISK per battle.
That doesn't sound like it is breaking the intensity of budgeting funds, nor mollifying the risk of dying.
Are you mad because you can't earn enough money, or are you mad because you were killed by a BPO suit/weapon? |

Thank you for answering the question. Though that question was more rhetorical and was just to make a point about them not being around during the event. The question I meant for you to answer was the last one but you answered it as well so again thanks for that.

Then why don't you stop running starter suits and militia gear because it's the same thing. Want people to stomp you? I'd rather run a BPO and kill a proto than run Proto and kill a BPO. Like I said, I saw a crap ton of people running BPOs in the event and equally as much running proto.

For the record, its not usually the same people complaining about both.
I for one embrace greater BPO use in Pubs.
Except for the LAVs, unless Echo was the fix that had LAV HP adjusted, then I don't care about BPO LAVs either.

I very rarely run anything less than ADV so why don't you go take a spin on a barbed rod instead of making assumptions about me. Though I'd like to point out that running militia gear has a risk unlike BPO's so it's not quite the same thing.
