Is it the frisbee ability or the blast radius of the REs that is the problem?
I've seen remotes planted and guys get blown away at what seems to be absurd distances....at the same time, the RE user survives the blast.
Because sometimes you see a scout throw a remote down and does his jump routine....you start to run away but you can never get away because the blast radius appears to be large.
Shield tanking is hard mode /period.

RE's are fine. I hate when people complain about the frisbee effect. It doesn't go far and what is it suppose to do? Is it so dam heavy that you can't throw it?

Neither, it's the lack of a meaningful delay between tossing and detonating.

It's the ability to toss them combined with their poor rendering that causes me the most problems.
The best answer I've found is to run directly at the one who drops/throws it. Running away generally results in my death.
I think REs should be traps, not short distance remote detonating grenades, and CCP should consider implementing an animation not dissimilar to the way someone with a needle revives a clone giving the target time to shoot the attempted trapmaker in the face while he readies his explosive.
But if not, then improving the rendering, lowering the toss distance, and/or increasing the stickiness would be a good start. |

I still think they should let me attach them to myself so I can run into an area and detonate, just sayin

Yeah. Why get rid of contact grenades when you've got RE's that work this way, anyway? |

I feel like they need a touch of a nerf on blast radius. If they are meant to be used as a "trap" then they should require a little more skill in where they are set to both make sure the player comes within range while not seeing the RE.
The upcoming buff to carried equipment scares me as I feel like REs are going to be spammed like no other. |

The damage and blast radius of REs are fine.
But the ability to frissbee toss them and the fact the animation doesn't always actually show where they land is the problem.
I'm tired of watching a scout toss an RE at his feet but it lands behind me instead.
The only real truth in history is that it was bloody.

If your character can lie down and touch the RE, the they are supposed to be inside the blast range. The distance you are at the time the server receives the detonation request is all that matters. A person can move a fraction further than that and still get clipped because of a bit of lag. The faster the suit, the more you see this disparity. Range is only 5 m, if that at all. (character is about 2-3 ingame m tall cause its definitely not meters) People tend to exaggerate their perceptions especially when under duress of some kind.
If you see a remote sliding around, you'll want to have a look at your home router.
If remote users are bothering you, you might want to not clump up so badly with other players. I find that clumped players loose track of their surroundings and stop looking about them. If you have a habit that makes you vulnerable, the fault isn't with the explosives.
Also, if remotes get used more, that means you can learn how to spot a user and provide watch for them, cause they have to be unarmed to get close enough to use the remote as a weapon. If you simply did some spotting, none of them could get in range to attack.

You're the problem. An RE is the solution.
