Would they though? Or would it just need a change in tactics. A heavy can fit self reps and with the new auto cannon command a large swath of the battle field. Logis could build a nano hive fortress and remain forever supplied and repaired. Assaults shall do as they always have and scout will retain their autonomy. Commandos may actually become the kings of this mode with solid self sufficency and the ability to fit a long and close range weapon. Weapons would all be useful fromLR to MDs. The only problem I foresee is vehicles and that could be easily fixed with no call ins.

The game is balanced for teams and roles so it wouldn't really work as well as you'd hope. Also, none of our current maps are designed with FFA in mind. I'm not entirely against the idea, but I still feel the resources required would be better invested elsewhere.

A proto stomp isn't caused by proto gear in the slightest. Your just as likely to die in proto as another suit. Teamwork is what produces stomps, the ability to coordinate targets, heal each other and cycle health pools. Take that away and you're just another target with some shiny shiny toys.
