To be completely honest, the only thing I could think of that would make dust a whole lot better is letting people use the starmap for faction warfare. why has this not been implemented yet? I was just wondering. |

i know right, the starmap is just for stargazing i think because you cant join battles from the starmap.
I love this game but it makes me rage so much.

The old Starmap was WAY better for Stargazing giving you the freedom to zoom in anf out and look all around the areas next to the planet you looked at.

Before we could select districts for FW via the starmap. Now districts are selected by Eve players.
I think a medium could be found in allowing players to select districts without making it so that Eve players can exploit it but I have yet to come up with a solid idea for this. |

As far as im aware battles are spawned randomly depending on system activity in eve. The districts are not chosen as such by players. Correct me if im wrong.
However allowing dust player to attack a district would be good. Maybe eve players in you faction could get a notification to get them off their bums to help out could happen as well.

This is the third GREAT thread I've seen started today! Kudos!
Quick answer to your post, Lady MDK: I think CCP is dead set against allowing the PS3 Dust players to initiate battles or pick parts of the Starmap or planet-district to attack. The Starmap DOES represent actual real estate in the EVE-Online players' game, and that game has been around for 10 years before we arrived. I't sort of wouldn't be fair to let us PS3 players start re-arranging assets in THEIR game, unless THOSE EVE players chose what and where.
As for the rest of the ideas posted here,GǪ give CCP some time. The Starmap has gone through several experimental transformations (mostly without CCP making a big announcement about it when they do), so we can tell the devs ARE thinking exactly what we're thinking about the Starmap.
I remember when pulling up a constellation on the screen caused the "crossed swords" icon to show up on certain planets where combat was in progressGǪ I think that icon information may be no longer on the map.
I also recall pulling up some districts, and seeing DETAILED info about whether it was a research facility in that district, or an ore extraction plant, or communications center, etcGǪ I think that data is gone now.
GǪSo it's clear that the Starmap is regularly being played around with. Give them time...
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...
