I have the PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii U, and a decent gaming rig.
I can say that talking about gaming as an icebreaker won't get you laid. I usually avoid anything that I might like and just ask questions. You'd be amazed how much further you would get with questions rather than answers. |

Also, mobile consoles are the future of gaming.
Stationary desk-weights are kind of fading from the "cool" zone. Especially since the "Graphical Plateau" is coming.
Notice all the "touch tablets" that are capable of running windows anymore? Yeah, that's right Laptops are replacing PC's and are becoming a console variant with almost non-interchangeable parts.
What is this plateau you ask? Quite bluntly, it's a quality of graphics processing in which it is not possible for the human mind to tell the difference between a higher and lower power setup.
From this plateau, the only advantage a PC has is malleability of choice.
On the other hand consoles are branching out and becoming far more diverse than before. Choice is going to console development.
Items such as gesture recognition, environmental "augmentation", 3D headsets, and tilt controls are going for the Consoles.
Consoles such as the Occulus Rift, the Wii, and the Xbox, are all showing signs of deeper use for these systems, while the PC's? They're still mouse and Keyboard, and not really going anyplace.

You have obviously never looked at the projects being done with the Kinect SDK. You really should go browse youtube to see what real gesture recognition software looks like.
Oh and the Oculus Rift is an add on for PC not a console. |
