Dual proto damage modded Plasma Cannons on a Lv5 Galmando will scare them off, but... that's about it. Short of a JLAV with a huge amount of RE's on it, no single unit can kill them. If they get cocky though, a few RE's on the rear work. Just run somewhere and hide, bring up the mini-map, and wait for the hardeners to go off before detonating. Works for me~

Burst on the tank and pray you get underneath; if underneath you're hitting another weak spot so go wild. Hardener barely affects damage now. I've gotten a few tanks like that with a soma. Just sometimes I pop ontop and well... That's my weak spot underneath too.
Other than that, flirt with the tank and abuse cover.
Orrr simply don't engage... and wait it out. Bursting can fail miserably, you might not be able to close the gap at all.
(not a tank pilot but it's what I do whenever i tank)

Whenever they see a scout run at their tank, they speed away. If I got the remotes, I'm killed by gunfire. When I spawn, the stupid tanker is in the hills fluxing his backside. Or my bandwith killed my remotes
