The best one was the multi-challenge event, where during the course of a week if you destroy 100 installations you received a certain reward, killed 100 people it was another, kill assisted 100 it was yet another, hacked 100 it was yet another, and if you did them all then you received a bonus.
This encouraged constant participation, not "I'll do 3 and then chillax the rest of the event" which is having a bit of an avalanche effect. Last MCC we averaged 800K a day, this one we're apparently doing 500K a day wih the same population levels, I'm not sure how much of this was due to the weekday (as opposed to Fri-Sat having the highest levels) and how much is due to the "minimal effort" crowd, but my money is on the latter.
Too many people are minimum "others will do it for me" and thus few are actually left to "do the work."
Also having two of these 5MCC days fall on Wed and Thurs was a bad idea imo.
One huge global community event is just terrible when we compare to the way we could be doing events.
We even have the "mission rewards" which could be tailored for special events.

Too many people are minimum "others will do it for me so I'll only do 3" and thus few are actually left to "do the work." We are not going to hit 5M, unless these last four days we somehow average 1.125M a day to make things up, and it's only going to get worse.
Also having two of these 5MCC days fall on Wed and Thurs was a bad idea imo.

Yes, but if Dust pushes me too hard right now, I might have a serious mental breakdown and kill everyone in my village

Agreed. Tiered rewards based off meeting performance goals is a superior model. If the goal of this event is clone terminations, then set kill, kill assist, and even death goals to reach and reward players accordingly. I do like the BPO reward personally, but I sympathize with players that haven't been accruing SP for years like many of us.
