What should happen is that the duration of visibility of a player should be calculated by the difference of their dropsuit's scan profile and the scanner's scan precision. Therefore, dampened suits could be detected by scanners, but only for a very short duration so that the team would only be aware of the player's general presence but not of its exact position. Heavies, on the other hand, would stay on scans for a longer duration. As an engineer, your buildings are like your children. You hit them to make them work harder.

If you're equal or above the dB rating, the duration is lessened by [insert math stuff here]. This way, scouts can still dampen and be scouty and it's beneficial for all other suits to dampen, even if they can't beat the scanner's dB rating. Dust is there! I was real! If the difference between the profile of the suit and the scanner is less than zero, they wouldn't be revealed. As an engineer, your buildings are like your children. If you are just barely scanned by 1-2dB, the enemy will only get a red circle that show them your general vicinity for 1-2 seconds. Theyll know what area youre in, but that's about it. If you have a profile of 50 and they scan you with a Duvolle Focused Scanner, they will know exactly where you are for 15-20 seconds. Adjust for variables in between both extremes. Home at Last <3
