The ScR and the Lazer rifle is better on Assault than commando.
Not only does Assault have 3 highs for 3 damage mods, the Assault has heat reduction bonuses which are the blood line of Laser weaponry.
Basically, the Amarr Commando is just a crappy Amarr Assault.

It may not be the same as the Gallente commando because of the heat buildup bonus that the Amarr assault gets but when I compare my Gallente assault to commando o think of it like this.
Sure, I can have three damage mods to get slightly more than a commando. But do I want to use that much Pg and CPU to gimp my suit in other areas? Nah. Two damage mods are fine with me.
Can I carry a plasma cannon with an assault? Sure can, but that would make me a one trick pony and prone to die if I can't kill them in the first shot. Plus that reload bonus on the Commando is fantastic when dealing with the plasma cannon.
Do I have enough armor and shields to be effective? Yeah, so ill just work on speed and or regeneration.
That last point is just a personal opinion though, I don't see the need to stack more armor on this suit when I can have 300 shields and 500 armor with 24 reps per second while running faster than a logistics suit.
So in short, you get three damage mods built in And you don't have to gimp yourself being stuck only with a laser rifle for long range wombat.
But that heatbuild up is a while card in my comparison...
As long as 4/5 (80%) of infantry AV weapons are Anti Armor based you're never going to achieve vehicle balance CCP

That's the Gallante commando bro, the Amarr is much different. The heat reduction bonus on Assault is much better than a 10% damage increase.

Just the Amarr Commando- not the others.
Amarr Commando would benefit a lot from the heat reduction than it does from 10% damage.

I've been playing with the Amarr dropsuits for as long as I can remember and all I can say is that the Amarr commando is a high risk high reward kind of suit, in my opinion of course. Since I use laser weapons almost always,I'm already used to heat build up,often stopping before the weapon overheats without looking at the hud. As the commando, I dish out damage that can occasionally surprises myself. Just be patient with it,its a really fun suit to use~
How many amarr does it take to change a light bulb? none. The minmatar do it for them

If used by the right player on the right map all 4 commandos have excellent point defense capabilities. Unfortunately most commandos i see try to use them like an assault, which isn't ineffective but not ideal. |
