So i was reading another thread and i read someones reply.
At first it seemed silly, but then it started to make more and more sense.
Proto Annihilator wrote:A proto squad could split and take 3 randoms each
Its perfect, see? At the beginning of each match, 3 high SP players per squad are randomly replaced with low SP blueberries drawn from the team that are not in a squad. These blueberries may not be kicked from the squad, and the players temporarily removed from squad cannot join a different squad. At the end of the match all returns to normal.
How is this beneficial, you ask?
Well first off, it effectively reduces squad size to 3. Maybe 3.5 if you get the creme de la creme. Probably not though.
Secondly, it would be helpful to the blueberries, who would be forced to listen to squad chate (against their will) These blueberries would learn all the latest drama happening in big corps and hear all about who most recently got 'exposed' by KTB. You know, tactically relevant squad intelligence.
Additionally, with only 2 protos and a few assorted morons watching your back, running proto all the time becomes far more risky entertaining
Finally, and most importantly,it would give squad-addicted players that cant play without 5 other protos holding their hands a chance opportunity to see what the game is like for the rest of us. They get to feel the same mind-numbing, soul-crushing, nightmare-inducing mix of pity and hatred at how completely and wholly incompetent the assorted group of morons called blueberries are. They then have to play a game with these people. A full game.
This would lead to the death of protostomping, and every second of it would be hilarious. |

If players wouldn't be forced to stay only in the squad chat, then they'd be in custom chats. They'd also probably run as normal on the field, often sticking to each other.
Only two differences: - That would 'split' the passive scans of the original squad - WP gains more modest so OB comes later. (- plus they would not see each other green but that really does not matter)

its dumb, proto stomping isnt unfair, grouping up with friends/like-minded people and using mics isnt a cheat code, anyone can join/create a squad, its just bad matchmaking

It's a good idea. Simpler solution would be to make WP- or SP-based matchmaking, so that proto-stompers could only be put against proto-capable players. Likewise, it is likely to cause sufficient losses on the offending team to make them think twice. I'm more than happy to go all-out with my proto against the proto-stomping sad cases, if i know my team would at least attempt to fight them. |

SP doesn't dictate lethality, which is the hallmark of stomp. Matchmake by lethality, and all will right itself.
KDR matchmaking would patch all the patches into pure patchitudity.

Very true, since you would probably have a very one sided game if one side consists of high sp logis, and the other of high kdr slayers, even if they have less SP! |

I believe that a way to fix proto teddies is if ccp put a metalevel-lock for example, in ambush you can't enter with a metalevel of 23 (for example) ppl will have to adjust their suits, Ergo less hp or damage, and more balanced the game.
Also they have to add another to just protos, keeping the risk/reward by far higher. So proto teddies can fight each other without messing with bluedots, or fighting with them without too much advantage.
