it is literally game breaking and we will never see a new player base simply because of proto stompers running a train all over newberries.
Why isn't Meta level match making on the road map? Isk is not a balancing factor as of one year now.

think it is pretty well balanced really. although some suits (caldari assualt, gal heavy) suck, many suits are great and very customizable like the min and amarr assualt or ammar heavy if you change these suits in certain ways they seem to be overpowered just because they have so many good options available to be modded. as far as people using protosuits in pub matches, some people just want to run good gear either they have been saving up for a while to afford it like myself or are so darn good that people pay them isk for them to play or they dont die. if you are getting rekt due to some one having a suit that is 10% better than yours you really need to look at your tactics or builds

Im coming more and more to the conclusion, that it's not only the suits. It's the passive skills from the dropsuit tree, and more importantly squads of PC experienced players who are in corps that condense the best players in the game fighting squads of lower level corps which might have similar experience, but have not the blind understanding of the game or the gungame of those top corp vets...
It is not possible to balance that, only seperation of these player groups will solve the problem.
Noobs need ranks that allow them to join battles that are restricted to low SP characters.
Top players need a cage where they can fight eachother without spoiling the fun for the rest... |

realistically some of those bitter old vets won't be phased by meta level locked modes ..but some who never run anything other than proto will either a stick to modes that are meta locked to higher end gear b they may try running lower end gear in the lower modes be patient ccp recognizes the problem they are on it..your patience will be rewarded.
although meta locking won't stop everyone the squads I run in stomp proto squads in adv gear ..it won't matter what gear we run well still stomp you ..BUT just won't be AS brutal ....
I'm all for the upcoming metalocks

Meta lvl restriction game modes will help some with match making, especially since the most try hard players can never shed their proto gear.
But a two year vet in std gear will still demolish a noob in std gear. And not just because of the SP gap. having game knowledge, knowing the maps and Dust experience will always benefit a vet over a new player.
The only real truth in history is that it was bloody.

Let me get this straight.
OP doesn't like it when someone kills at a rate that is disproportionate to their deaths.
And OP doesn't like it when someone dies disproportionately to their ability to deal out deaths.
Interesting. If only there was a method of making sure people of similar lethality consistently played one another...
KDR matchmaking would patch all the patches into pure patchitudity.

Why isn't Meta level match making on the road map? Isk is not a balancing factor as of one year now. Says the guy who corp roflprotostomped a Dust University squad I ran with yesterday.
Complaint? Not really, since it gave me a challenge as that was the first time I was a squad leader and having people follow your commands was really something else (even though my calls may have been bad ones).
You might have not been in that squad, but I guess what I'm trying to say is: Before you remove the needle in another's eye, remove the plank from your own first.
Also, do I disagree with you? No. Again, I agree that something needs to be done to retain new players. I've taken a couple of new players under my wing and have been helping them out with explaining the game and giving some example fittings to make them more effective on the battlefield.
My suggestion? Maybe talking with your corporation and telling them to stop running prototype gear in public matches and challenge themselves by running only BPO only gear.

And this is why I'd like to see a gamemode for the pros only... You would have to earn your way into that, and if you can play that, matches should be intense against people who know the game, no blueberrys whatsoever, everybody knows how to play the game. This should be much more fun for the vets as well.

Why isn't Meta level match making on the road map? Isk is not a balancing factor as of one year now. Tell us how you would really do meta level matchmaking? Meta levels 1 2 and 3 Meta level 1 has a meta limit = to stnd gear with complex modules Meta level 2 has a meta limit =adv gear with complex modules Meta level 3 has a meta limit =officers gear complex modules You can run any meta level gear up to the limit each mode has increased isk payouts meta 1 200 max meta 2 450 k max meta 3 900k max Done
also when looking at the meta levels they should have green yellow and red easy normal hard next to them ...This makes it easy for new players to understand what meta lvl is
Factional could also have very hard next to it and should have a meta level of 3 this leaves fw open to everyone
possibly a meta range of 2-3 ..This removes stnd gear from fw
This is also assuming the even out meta level as atm it's just a made up number some suits that are the exact same thing just a different version have different meta levels
The meta level of different roles need to be evened out

Why isn't Meta level match making on the road map? Isk is not a balancing factor as of one year now. Tell us how you would really do meta level matchmaking? Actually, I have a really good idea about this.
First, everything needs a meta level rework. Aurum items are significantly higher than ISK variants and needs to be either the same or 1 level higher than ISK variants. A debate can be had on that.
Second, the meta level lockout number needs to be different across the different classes. Logistics could essentially be locked out of public matches altogether if not done correctly.
For example: Assaults have a lockout of 35. Logistics have a lockout of 55. Commandos have a lockout level of 25. etc. (These numbers are made up and are only given as example, not a guideline.)
EDIT: Forgot to mention, fits that are above the lockout level would be invalid fits or at least be flagged as invalid fits for Public matches.

Yes they need to fix meta level as is so all gear is rated the same ...it should be based on level of gear a fully fitted amar proto assault should have the same relative meta level as a fully fitted proto anything
Ditto for adv and std
