But you an only pick it up if you are skilled up to use it, or else it goes crazy when you fire it.

Only if you drop your current weapon. Copy and all. You could collect proto, by dropping basic, if you were good.

Disengage it if you are using bpo.

If the enemy has a Prototype weapon, but you are only skilled enough to use ADV ones, the weapon is...

 5% less accurate
 has 5% more kick
 reloads 5% slower
and has a super super tiny chance to randomly jam.

If you can only use basic, all the percentages are doubled.
Hou can only use Militia? Tripled.

Just follow this basic logic down the tiers.

Basically, you can pick up the weapon, and use it, but you'd be better off just using what you have, most likely.

 Bad idea..

-No sense in allowing anybody to pick up and operate a weapon they never unlocked the skills for, but it's stupid to say "you don't have the skill to pick this up off the ground"

-Certain weapons would go over the PG/CPU limit when fitted, even if the person had the skills to use the weapon

-It would probably be a glitchy and laggy mechanic, especially since if you take somebody else's weapon, you're probably going to drop your own in the same spot right? A bunch of guns lying around that have to be rendered, and can only be picked up by people who have the skills and the available PG/CPU... yeah, really bad idea.

Bleeding out would remove it from play.

You wouldn't have to render a dropped weapon. Just delete it from inventory.

A salvaged weapon could have 0 cpu/pg until you switch it out at a supply depot. you'd still lose it if you died.

On a cooler note we could have a stat (+ù notches). x being how many times a gun changed hands. Put it in the kill feed for flair or hunters to collect.

I dislike the wonky skill idea OP. Just a normal gun. Chock it up to adrenal spikes for lore hounds.

Shouldn't be allowed in my tank if you don't have all the vehicle skills I have then...

I believe that the guns we use have nanites recognition for thay same reason. So you can't pick your opponents guns in the battlefield and use it against them.

Just HAV operation. The fitting skills apply to the tank that's already on the ground. People shouldn't be able to drive a basic HAV without operation.
