Ambush is a steaming pile of sh*t. 2.) 6 is overkill. 3.) Only pull it out if scouts are a problem. 4.) Eh, I'd take my Min or Gal Assault any day. I hate the Amarr. 5.) Let em stay up there. We'll kill em if they jump down, or farm WP for an OB. 6.) Scout all day. Scrubbing links and shotgunning logis/stabbing heavies is my specialty. 7.) They won't let me do anything but scout. I specced Minmando for AV, and every time I tell them I can run it, they say "Shut up Ghost, run your scout" 8.) No, Yes, No, No, No, No. Granted, I still think that being a tryhard in PC is a compliment. 9.) I hate Rail Rifles. I don't even have Op 1. Same with ScR and Laser. I guess I'm not a pubstar. So why not run the best you have? Its not that these tactics are broken, its just that a vast majority of the playerbase either A.) Doesn't know how to counter B.) Isn't good enough to counter. We also call them pubstars for a very simple reason. They tend to be one trick ponies, knowing only a handful of tactics to use and execute. Once you nullify their roof camp or Heavy Spam, they will often give up. They're pubstars because playing pubs against blues is the best they'll ever be. They can't compete. Tryhards are different. Those are the guys who you see trying to single handedly win games. The guy running uplinks all over the place, then switching to AV to blow up a tank, pulling proto trying to run a whole group off of an objective. They run Proto because they have to, or because they don't die. Carrying a team on your back is easier when you are running PRO, thats for sure. Pubstars hate these guys because they often know how to counter pub tactics. They are the ones that will MD/RE spam a CQC place with lots of heavies rather than running in, or sniping the people who are roof camping over and over (Or grabbing a DS and clearing them off himself). They also make excellent PC material. A good try hard is someone who knows what must be done to win a battle, and does it himself without anyone telling him to. In FA, we call that being "Clutch". Normal players hate tryhards because they will ALWAYS try to win the match. They will burn ISK and suits to win a match, or even throw their K/D in the toilet to make sure they win. Playing against a group of tryhards multiple times in a row is depressing, as they normally take every match seriously and will stomp a good 90% of the teams they play, even with 2 lightly organized squads against them. My common fits are the APEX Nomad Loyality version, scout G1 hacking setup, and assault gk.0 speed setup. I think ambush sucks, and I get way to little skill points running it. I'd rather average 1200 WP a game in Skirmish alone with the scout G1 hacking stuff, than rely on a full-proto squad to help me make a profit in hairy bush. I don't and haven't gotten into a PC, because you know, regulars first, even though 'we' lose most of our PCs and by listening, it seems like they can't get enough people to listen to orders to win.
