I noticed two key things when I run Galente and Minmatar factional warfare. The matches are either laggy or the enemy team runs hacks. For instance last match I froze on because I was leaving battle there was a dominus sentinel that dealt 6000 damage to my minmatar war lord as soon as I came out of cover. Also Never in dust have I froze leaving a match. I froze in combat and restocking but why the heck should I freeze leaving a match? I want the garbage behind that to stop.

Ahh....yes the Amarr "Loyalists" are quiet interesting on how they win.... either Q synch.... or strange things like intense lag, weapons switching back to previous item, equipment not working properly, outrageous damage, or no damage taken.... a few of the things that happen only in minmitar and gallentai fw....

I always find that if I run MinFW, I'll go up against an Amarr q-sync (15 players, seriously) all running full proto and even some Officer.
But if i go onto my Amarr alt instead on a night, guarantee that the Minmatar q-sync instead. It's a never ending cycle of truly effing shite matchmaking and a lack of interest FOR that reason.
But ofc, unless you're in the q-syncing corps, you don't stand a chance. Oh, and they all expect a ridiculously high K/D and SP requirements to even join up.
Aka, big corps are for 24/7 proto-running cowards who have to fight opponents only when they outnumber them.

Comparable to teenage gangs in England.

Heavies op? They normally are slow and assaults are able to stack more shield and armor along with better movement speed

Still these issues should be fixed. Hacking should be screened and the lag that always seems to happen is oddly current.

Thats what annoys me even more, when they change Faction because they're losing to them. Taking the Merc name wayyyy too literally. I however, am loyal to whichever race my character is

You must of noticed the increase in FW match lag though, come on now. It's been happening for weeks, but it doesn't seem to affect both teams, just one.
If it's not hacking, god knows why it happens to one team only.

And unlike most players, I am not ashamed to say that yes, these players were all over the god damn place. People teleporting a few meters, sprinters freezing in place shooting at nothing, it literally was like firing Forge Guns at the statue of liberty from the base. Impossible to ever miss.
This lag happens, I'm interested to know what is being done about it.

1) It is not possible to 'hack' this game without hacking CCP servers, there are no lag switches or anything possible beyond modded controllers (which simply repeats inputs at incredibly high rates). Lag switches are not possible because this game is server hosted, not peer to peer or 'locally' hosted by a player, because neither of those are met in order to 'lag switch' you'd have to DDOS ccp.
2) in match 'lag' is suspected to be the culprit of a large number of things, from the number of chat channels you have (this is confirmed to cause freezing occasionally at 5-7+ channels) to the number of fittings / suits you (and the enemy) uses.
Every time a suit is changed, or you change to a different suit it goes into your local memory cache (more or less buffered so that you don't have to 'load' the suit upon encountering it)... and this cache isn't purged until the end of the match. If you only use the exact same suit with the exact same fitting you will be considerably less affected. This is believed to be a function of slightly antiquated ps3 hardware. It is believed that the SKINS system might alleviate some of the problems by cutting down on the number of things the game must store in the memory cache.
When you start chunking up during gameplay its because your cache has been filling up, and this gives a massive chance that you will freeze.
Part of the solution to this has also been pruning down map sizes.

The FW matches I played tonight were laggy, but I suspect that's because 15 of the enemy were from the same South American corp. I always lag hard against that corp, no matter where I come across them.
The game was actually better than a lot of the pubs on Europe's server when dust Brazil and dust America are there, lagging us all out. |
