As brought up many times in the past, what do we call ourselves to distinguish us specifically as the cloned immortal mercenary soldiers that we are? And for those who would say "cloned immortal mercenaries" that term is extremely vague, regardless of us knowing the context here and now. Look at the term "capsuleer." You instantly think of a immortal pilot in their pod. We don't have a term that works the same way for us. We deserve one.
I'm throwing Mannequin on the table simply because our on-field clones are all based on the same design and are pretty blank, in reality. If anyone else has a name, a proper one at that, I'll throw it up also.
On the Table:
Mannequin

These days I just refer to us as mercs or even more simply as clones. Slang never liked wordy words. And clones perfectly discribe us and how we are used

Ehh it describes us but it doesn't directly describe us. You have others using clones. You have Capsuleers who use clones and are piloting mercenaries at the same time.

Thing is when refering to the eggers that's the term people use. There nicknames have an elements of respect. So people never think of clone=cap.
However we are dirty upstarts that die in the millions noone like us including are self's which is why the term clone is used.
To the people we are the same just clones each one the same monster worth less than human life. The term merc or templar etc is only applied once we clime to the top of a very big pile of bodies.
Iv been around a while iv met a lot of clones and very few mercs.

Our most important feature is that we can die in droves and still come back for more so why not call us "Cannon fodder". Either that or "Instant monsters" |

Immortal clone soldiers. ICS. Icies. Ices? Icys?
Simple, and stands for something. If people go around calling us "Aye-see-esses" eventually it should shorten to something like "icys".
Not to mention we do get pretty icy after a few hundred thousand deaths. Or downright crazy. But this at least has the neutral feel like capsuleer, unlike racial titles, bunnies, monster, etc.
I kinda like that actually. I will be using it at least.

I grow wary of constantly needing to point out that this "mercenary" label that the New Eden propaganda team had been shoving out is utter garbage and quite frankly an outrage. Quasi-immortality does not break the soul from the divine obligation.

As Longstrike-haani mentioned previously, there's an old Minmatar folk legend of warrior spirits called draugr or 'again-walkers.' Though the term is mostly applied to immortal mercenaries in a negative context by only the most superstitious civilians, I've found that baring the title as a badge of pride tends to yield results within the Republic. By that I mean, people will take you far more seriously and be less likely to argue with you when you are trying to peddle a mangled flux coil to a Sanmatar.
Elysians in Gallente populations is also a common term, but you have to bare in mind that in the Federation people look to our kind more as sports stars than professional soldiers. We're a source of entertainment, and some of the more... ehm... Outgoing mercenaries like that of the infamous Kirk have a rather large following. Templars seems equally prevalent in Amarr society for obvious reasons, though the APEX line of dropsuits seems to show a shift to the alternative term 'seraphs' to mark combatants not requisitioned directly by the Amarr military.
Lastly, there is Rasetsu within the State but this term seems exclusive to shock and assault troops. More often than not troops within different specialized units will have some sort of name for themselves from Raata demonology. Baku for air assault, kappa for amphibious landings, yurei for practically anything else... Frankly, the best term I suspect that we all agree on that translates well into different cultures is a type of noble soldier we call the samurai.
Has a nice ring to it in my opinion.

Thanaions. Eternal death. More so than any other immortal... the Capsuleers, or even the Valkyrie know nothing of death. We die in the hundreds to every one or two of them that die. We have an eternal fight to give death... or receive it.
((I derived Thanaions from two Greek words. The first part, Than, is that of Thanatos, or death. But since a carrier in Eve Online is called the Thanatos, we couldn't very well be called that as well. The second part, Aion, is that of Aionios, or eternal. Seemed fitting to me. Any feedback would be nice.))
