Thinking about respeccing is taking up far too much of my extremely limited brain power at the moment.
I can't work out if respeccing my main character is a better option than starting an alt and doing the things I want to differently from scratch.
What would you do/have you done?

Actually the dilemma is if I want to lose 3 or 4 weapons/sidearms and spec into a different race./
but I have no qualms about chasing OP weapons if they exist!

I don't follow the FotM, but there is always some sort of OP thing going on that people want to get into.
Maybe scout, spamming RE's or something? |

Flavor of the month is hmg sentinel since 1.8.
They were paired by scouts at start but now that scouts have been balanced sentinels really shine.
One of the few assaults you'll find in a PC match!

IMO you need to wait for 40M to respec, 25-30M is already a lot of SP!

Take a piece of paper and write down what you need. Tally that up. Write down what you want, again tally. Compare it to what you have. Decide.

Who cares what your total SP is? It doesn't change anything when all you need is roughly 10mil for core each time and only 15mil to max a class.

Wanted to go into a different race and lose some of the weapons I no longer use. plus lost interest in commando so will save a bit from that.

I've luckily had 3 alts running since I started playing, my main has just over 40 mil and my 2 alts have around 26. I have one for Vehicles and one for just logistics. My main has all Gal suits and weapons proto. I did purchase a respec for my logi, as I wanted to go back to Amarr. I may purchase one for my vehicle alt if the old vehicles and modules come back, I have 5 or 6 million in infantry that I won't really use if vehicles become varied again. I think a respec would be a good choice if you have wasted sp in a considerable amount, don't have your core skills maxed, or are using a suit or weapon that doesnt compliment your playstyle.

Thank you. I don't feel like I've wasted SP particularly as I've made fair use out of everything I've specced into.
I will say that I was guilty of fotm chasing when I skilled into bolt pistols - but that's the only one that's been wasted. and probably going advanced in commando was wasted. but that's not a great deal of sp - although enough to make a little difference..
basically it's 50.50 at the moment. I could happily stick with what I've got and continue building slowly - but watching a corpmate respec recently made me quite jealous of his new streamlined skill tree and fittings list..

Do it. It will take forever to start a new character. You can do slot with 30 mil if you spend it smart.

Take aur and triple stack boosters..hell triple stack passives too. You'll be skilled in what you want in no time. Variety is a spice of life. Imo I'd rather have sp spread out (cores done of course) so i can just have fun.
Think about it..spend aur and have same sp or spend aur and have more sp AND isk

I got Amarr protoed. All my cal suits are adv. I got all proto equipment. And Heavy weapons maxed. My rifles I use are maxed. What could I need more than lvl 5?

Why?I have all 5's and yet still some of my fits are tight. I would imagine that I wouldn't be able to fit them at all if I didn't have all 5's

the respect is what 38k? two 30 day passives are 28k - which is double sp at around hmmmm 1.4m SP a month. Maths not my strong point...
