I normally run nothing but full proto when I pull out a logi suit, use the republic boundless rep so I get 2 links c: Of course I also have those fancy -%20 timer uplinks as well.
The main problem I find, are the ones who are actually carrying needles that walk over your corpse, what's the point of having a needle if your not looking to stick someone with it? D:
As well as those matches where I have to hang up my other suits just to put uplinks for the whole team, there needs to be a logi school :c

When I read a similar post about 3 weeks ago I did actually change my ways, I used to only use my apex logis because I really liked deciding how to swap them but I have started putting out better uplinks , I usually carry injectors but they are annoying as hell, either literally nobody calls for help or get newbs calling for help so you run towards them, an then changing their mind, it does result in you getting a bit shot up for nothing.

Aye it can be annoying, but it might also be the bleed-out timer as well. I miss the days of just picking people up. I only did it when safe to do so or if I knew they had a high chance of getting away, but Ambushes were more interesting in those days. You had to shoot the corpse after you killed it. Now you can just leave it (saving ammo), and they will not be picked up.

Its so rare to find a proper logi nowadays -_- >QQrs can easily throw away clones with no drawbacks just as they wanted, and this happens a lot. >With logistics suits having low survival unless they brick tank, heavies become the only suits logistics can keep up with,in terms of speed. Since costs of these (logistics) suits are usually 2x those of better surviving suits (assaults),logistics stay where they feel safest to protect that hefty investment. (Around suits with 1k + eHP,aka heavies) >Other suits can carry equipment too.
As most have exclaimed in joy about, logistics typically requires a squad. No other suit in the game does.
So until logistics can solo like literally everyone else can, these things will never change.

repping should be a maximum of 50WP per person per minute.
Would stop people sticking on someones arse getting more WP than me when I'm logi'ing in bush with ULs, hives, & scans and getting 20+ kills.

I think the issue is needles just are not worth puttin on the fit anymore. Personally, I always call for help when I'm killed unless I'm out of ammo. I put a needle on my first sprint scout suit recently since the cloak is rarely used by me these days even though it's still on most of my suits. I find I almost never get a chance to use it. I think in about 30 matches since the change I've needled maybe once or twice.

I felt a little offended recently when someone incredulously asked how I could be a medic without a nanite injector. Logistics is not the same as medic.
Why don't YOU carry a nanite injector, Yokal Bob? Why should I? I'm way more likely to be a target than any other suit.
I have Uplinks. Uplinks and an injector together seem redundant to me. The Uplink seems more useful, because people who are exploded can't be injected anyway.
I do agree though that it's stupid to have a repair tool on someone when they have full shields and armor. I've seen that way too often. I don't do that because I can't rely on my team mates to be able to kill anyone. In the cases in which I accompanied a sentinel, I have killed scouts that would have been the bane of us should I have had a repair tool out.
I solo well. I realize that I'm probably atypical. The logistics suit I most often use in public matches is as follows: A/1 Advanced Laser, Breach Scrambler, Advanced Packed AV Grenade. Advanced Flux Uplink, K-17 D Nano Hive, BDR-8 Triage Repair Tool. Enhanced Precision Enhancer, Enhanced Shield Extender, Enhanced Shield Extender. Enhanced Profile Dampener, Enhanced Reactive Plate, Enhanced Reactive Plate.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

Never ***** about your proto assault suit costs, because it'll never come close to a logi's investment. It's always been like this. Equipment prices are through the roof.

First of all, even assaults and scouts can equip rep tools, so they can also be accused of following heavies. Second in pub matches without a squad NOBODY asks to be revived anymore. Third their probably just a bad logi.

These larger numbers stack up faster and more often on us, as even when tanking the **** out of the suit, we still become target number one. Out of a whole room filled with heavies, assaults and scouts, they targeted the little yellow dude with the red eyes and expensive ****. When my deaths in a proto suit pass 2-3, time to whip out my "Shaman" logi to try and save my paycheck.

When I run a needle on my Commando... I hate everyone that dies, you either wait half an hour to bleed out, or you wait until I've given up on you to ask for help, or you're all just oblivious to me being there.
And hardly anyone else ever carries a needle, but everyone is happy to ***** about no one else carrying a needle.

Prices with just equipment. http://www.protofits.com/fittings/view/0/7831
60k less than your full fitting. With 0 modules,0 weapons, less speed, stamina and eHP.
So we can either nitpick the 2x comment or realize it costs logistics more than assaults to die faster.

I hate people who ***** and moan on the forums about how there are no logis on the field to pick up your expensive suits but logis are expected to die in their expensive suit with no expectation of a revive as a role requirement.
Additionally, a nanite injector is a piece of EQ with no racial/logi tied bonuses because it was meant to be used by EVERYBODY.
If you're so pissed that logi's are supposedly not around, start running one, get the +30/60/90 yourself and see how few people actually call out for help.

What exactly is a "proper" logi anyway? Your proper logi is an opinion....take for example, me.
I'm a long lost style player in this game referred to as "Combat Logi" or "Battle Logi" which means I carry lots of tanky ferroscale plating, lots of tanky complex shield extenders and roll around on the battlefield with 967EHP, right?
But I also carry a rep tool and a nanite injector, along with an entire suite of RE's (two different types!) a proto AR (Duvolle) and a flux grenade to wipe out YOUR re's or drop your fat heavy shields so I can mow you down with my Duvolle AR.
So not only am I out there kicking ass and taking names, but when you get your ass kicked and want help I'll pull out my needle, stab you in the eye socket, bring you back to life and then repair you until your armor is healed and kick you in the ass and send you on your way.
So it can be argued because I'm one of the last die hard "Combat Logis" that I am not a "proper logi" BUT I carry a nanite injector so you would call me a "proper logi"
The whole idea of "proper logi" is ambiguous at best. |
