CCP have a track record of asking the community for material in the past. "This is EVE" trailer comes to mind, in which CCP asked the community to submit their voice recordings to produce the best video game trailer, like ever.
What if CCP asked the community to produce good (short) tutorial videos (animated or "live"), which could be later accessed from the game client? Explaining mechanics like drop uplinks, scan radius, bandwidth, optimal weapon ranges, strategies etc.
Compared to a full blown tutorial mode with NPC bots, the required development would be minimal. We already have the "Uprising Trailer" in-game, which plays the first time a new client is installed. Only a small fraction of the player base search the forums and YouTube for answers to their thousands of questions, so the content needs to be available in-game for the masses.
I think this could greatly help the NPE and retention rate of Dust 514... |

The trailer shown the first time you load up is called "Immortal".
Anyways, I'm in total agreement with you - I would love to see something similar to the "This is EVE" trailer - but part of me believes they are working hard on developing and balancing the game before doing something like another trailer. (Not to mention squashing some bugs too.)

Perhaps I was a little unclear in my OP.
I am not looking for a new Dust Trailer, but rather short turorial videos that can help NPE, which can be in the game client in the same way as the "Immortal" trailer (thanks for that BTW  )
The reason I mentioned "This is EVE" is that CCP asked the community for assistance, which they gladly provided. CCP Rattati's team is small, and there is just so much they can do at one time. Wouldn't it be great if the community can chip in and provide CCP with materials, which they can include in the game client for easy access?
The required work (on CCP's part) will be minimal since the functionality are basically already in-game. |

It is truly an awesome video. It's why I chose amarr. Those heavies smash down and start killing. Epic. |
