so the warbarge damage bonus is the equivilant of the damage bonus from STD to proto that is unobtainable without AUR or waiting close to 2 years.

It has just been declared that dailys will get component missions.
That MIGHT shorten the time drastically.

well you can obtain 3% bonus (equivilant to an upgrade to ADV) in about 3 months
the other 3% takes much longer due to scaling, numbers are hard to come by since the threads keep getting locked

MIGHT shorten from 8 years to 4 (for fully upgraded warbarge) assuming you dont ever collect anything from the experamental production facility

The Warbarge really is a sad addition to DUST. If I fork over some dough I can have a nifty damage bonus to my guns. Waiting it out can hardly be considered an option.
IGÇÖm stubbornly refusing to use AUR on that barge. My boyfriend did though and he has a 3% damage bonus, he had that in less than an hour after downloading AURlords. IGÇÖm still waiting to upgrade my barge to level 2. Should be there in a day or two. Maybe.

If I remember right he used about 70K AUR, he bought the Vet pack that comes with 100K. So to get to 3% damage it will cost somewhere in the region of 35 USD/EUR. I think on PS Store the 100K AUR pack costs 49,90 USD/EUR. Not sure though as I was never interested in it.

Simple trading allow us to echange stuf like... components.
This years that people mention here will shrunk to maybe few months if you can 'farm' enough ISk to purchase components from other players (yes price will be rocket high.. but you can do it and not spend AUR)

I donGÇÖt find player trading to be a very strong argument here.
First, because we donGÇÖt have one yet.
Second, because it would benefit those using AUR the most. If you have upgraded you barge with AUR you have less of a need for all the components youGÇÖre making. If you have not used AUR you need every last one of them to upgrade it. So those who have their barge upgraded with AUR can quite easily choose to sell all their components. They can start hoarding them now and when we eventually have player trading they will have monthsGÇÖ worth of stockpile behind them.
Also, if the player trading is going to be GÇ£trust basedGÇ¥ it leaves a lot of people without an option. I would never trade with anyone I donGÇÖt know. But I really donGÇÖt know what kind of trading CCP has in mind. I fear the worst though.
