Is it possible to track when a piece of equipment is used and the associated WP, and possibly if it is near the objective?
If so, maybe we could have an event where for example, you get to name the officer nano-needle if you get the most WP from using the needle, maybe even only if it is within 150 meters of an objective?
Maybe we could track just the "bonus objective proximity sp" generated from equipment and just use that as the "score" for a winner, to help prevent boosting.
As for Suits, since the officer sidearm event was based on using militia weapons, maybe we could do something similar for officer suits?
For example:
All categories only qualify when using the standard level of the suit:
Assault:
- Amarr: Most amount of kills with Laser type weapons.
- Caldari: Most amount of kills with Hybrid Rail type weapons.
- Gallente: Most amount of kills with Hybrid Blaster type weapons.
- Minmatar: Most amount of kills with Ballistic type weapons.
Logistical: (Note that these mainly benefit squadded players, but this IS a logistics suit after all
- Amarr: Most amount of WP earned with Spawn points.
- Caldari: Most amount of WP earned with Resupply points.
- Gallente: Most amount of WP earned with Scanned Intel points.
- Minmatar: Most amount of WP earned with Triage/Guardian points.
Scout:
- Amarr: Most amount of WP earned from hacking (counting assists).
- Caldari: Most amount of WP earned from hacking (counting assists).
- Gallente: Most amount of WP earned from hacking (counting assists).
- Minmatar: Most amount of WP earned from hacking (counting assists).
Sentinel:
- Amarr: Most amount of WPs (Kills and Vehicle related points) from heavy weaponry.
- Caldari: Most amount of WPs (Kills and Vehicle related points) from heavy weaponry.
- Gallente: Most amount of WPs (Kills and Vehicle related points) from heavy weaponry.
- Minmatar: Most amount of WPs (Kills and Vehicle related points) from heavy weaponry.
Commando:
- Amarr: Most amount of kills with Laser weapons.
- Caldari: Most amount of kills with Hybrid Rail weapons.
- Gallente: Most amount of kills with Hybrid Blaster weapons.
- Minmatar: Most amount of kills with Ballistic/Explosive weapons.
Alternatively we could just be super boring and do "Most amount of WP earned with basic suit of X type."
Alternatively, here is the idea I really like, do the "Most amount of WP earned" HOWEVER make it where you HAVE to earn the WP in a temporary APEX suit that CCP awards every character just for the event, as supposedly these APEX suits are already designed in the manner that CCP envisions their role to be, and this would be perfectly balanced as even if you think your particular suit is UP you are competing against identical suits.
