CPM's are supposed to represent the community right?
How can you represent a community when you don't spend the time getting to know us?
Who are you?
How did you get elected?
Did you just get a bunch of your friends to vote for you?
If so, is that what's best for Dust?
Sounds pretty selfish to me.
Do you think I'm @sshole because I call you out and make you sweat?
Why does this bother you?
Shouldn't you rise to the occasion?
Why do you guys talk down to your community?
Why is your opinion always better than ours in your minds?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you supposed to shake your head and write down what we want and not argue?
Because if your not doing that, then...aren't you just always doing things your way?
Shouldn't the CPM's be those who have the most in game experience?
Why don't you play Dust?
And finally...If you don't play dust...or listen to what the community wants...doesn't that make you irrelevant, in which case, shouldn't you be marked as SPAM and banned from the forums?
I'm a try-hard, because half my team sits in the MCC.

I saw a brown streak on Iron Sabre Wolf's nose earlier, i just assumed he had just got done eating a snack pack or something.

IWS' sin is that he sees the silver lining in everything and does his best to see everything in the best light, with the best of faith, with grand overwhelming sometimes-out-of-place enthusiasm. It can rub the wrong folks wrong I suppose, but he's pretty active imo and one of the better CPMs.

I actually know EXACTLY who you are in game.
And no we're not CPM's yes men...otherwise you wouldn't see me here publicly stating differences of opinion with CCP on a plethora of issues...strongboxes not giving you a couple of options for loot for one or the inSANE amount of time required to max out the WB from what I understand (reminds me the BIGGEST problem in PS-2...which is certs costing such a **** ton of in game time spent just to get one new weapon for one new class on one of three potential characters and if you change allegiance..you're screwed right?)
Candor while maintaining an acceptable (hopefully) level when respect and politeness does not a yes man make.
Also...feel free to take the initiative to email ME if you feel it's important for us to know each other...a general life lesson we must all learn is successfully discerning what is good, what is better, and what is best.
I will never have the time to get to know many of the players of dust...and indeed I think that while it may be a good endeavor there are perhaps better ways to spend the time we have in striving to be worthy advocates.
As for some of the other questions...if I was elected solely because of friends then I'm quite proud of the many people who call me friend.
If I have been perceived to be arrogant then I apologize. I am a flawed human being trying imperfectly to help dust be a game you want to play. I don't pretend to have the answers...I just signed because I perhaps foolishly hoped I would be able to get the answers from you guys. Because of this I would assert that my opinion is no better or worse than anyone else's..and if it is you'll find that I love playing devil's advocate and have no qualms commandeering whatever idea seems to be the best.
The rest I feel are questions best left to another day. I've spent precious time here answering this particular thread because I know you and iirc you aren't actually an asshat. You're just mistaken.

P.S. Oh fine i'll answer one more...I played dust...and actually played against Cross on the other team...last night.
I don't get to play as often as I used to (though I may still be in the top 250 kills/wp's all time) because real life's exertions can be summed up as "**** happen's" and I am not immune.
I have about 3500 hours spent on dust. I have 70 some odd thousand kills. And this is JUST my main. I have more time spent in game than you do. That doesn't make anyone inherently more qualified than anyone else to do this job. There's people who have less than 15k kills in game and have only been known what dust was for 8 months who I would feel confident about if they decided to serve. Anyways.
Hopefully this was at least a good use of my time.

The dude has tons of opinions I dis agree with.
But IWS has probably put in more work then any other player... Even conveying all the players thoughts who smack him on the forums for his opinions... he usually writes out that in a better written manner to CCP or discussed.
Bottom line is CCP knows. They read and respond..
They chose to say F* YOU ALL.
We know best. Because we are CCP Shanghai and when do we F* up?
They didn't discuss the warbarge mechanics and time and cost at all with us.... They couldn't give a sh!t what we thought because they just are so smart... can't you see?
They even respond like this.... to the CPM's...
They can't even be bothered to calculate the total values of things like the time for loyalty ranks or warbarges or the actual cost and even sit back and ask the question "Duuuuh, geeee... Does this make sense?"
Want to know the worst part in all this???
CPM's get an even worse version of idea's thrown at them before a little bit of actual feedback from a few users get thrown back at CCP.
And it seems CCP is even getting tired of hearing CPM echo the community and are starting to ignore them. |
