Okay so I've skilled in Lv. 3 Demolitions and have the regular Remote Explosives and remote F/45s (whatever the Lv. 3 is called. I'm a total newbie to REs.
IIRC the standard RE says that I can put down 3 active charges and the F/45 says I can put 4. However, I've tried placing 3 explosives and after placing the third and last charge the first one I place disappears as if I'm limited to 2 (when the menu clearly states I can put 3). The same goes for the F/45s which say I can place 4 but I'm still limited to 2. Even if I mix and match both explosives I get the same result.
I'm using a MN light frame, though I doubt that has anything to do with it. Unless I have to be logistics or a scout or something. I also highly doubt there's a "RE quantity" thing I have to skill into. Unless, of course , I'm wrong and there is. I've seen videos of players able to place 4+ REs on anything - esp. jihad jeep users. Not sure why I can't be able to place more than 2 explosives at one time.
Anyone have an answer? Thanks. |

Bandwidth.
Check the bandwidth stat of whatever suit your are running with RE's or Uplinks as well.
I believe each remote requires 3 BW.
So to place 3 active your frame will need at least a BW of 9.
For 4 active RE's a BW of 12 etc.
Your STD light frame probably has a BW of 6.

First of all, thank you for the reply.
Wow, bandwidth, I never even thought of that. I'm pretty new to that sort of thing so the whole concept of it kinda confuses me; I'll make sure to look into that. So I guess a logi would have more bandwidth? |

Higher tier suits also have more than lower ones.

If you are only using the Minmatar Light suits, which I think are less expensive, consider using a Light M/1 as that should have higher BW than the M-1.

Look here for the spreadsheet that tells you the BW values of each suit and each piece of EQ.
To inform you of the inner workings of BW, it is tied directly to the suit you are currently residing in.
What this means is, if I came in as an ADV logistics, I can lay down 6 pieces of EQ.
As an example, I lay down in this order:
ADV Logi = 24 BW
Militia Uplink R-9 Uplink 1 R-9 Uplink 2 Nanohive P-13 Uplink K-2 hive
Now if I continue the battle and die and spawn back in to an ADV Scout or switch to it via Supply Depot:
ADV Scout = 8 BW
Militia Uplink (pop) R-9 Uplink 1 (pop) R-9 Uplink 2 (pop) Nanohive (pop) P-13 Uplink - remains active K-2 hive - remains active
So it removes from battle in the order you laid it.
