Voted "Fine where it is". If a player dies quickly, they've fitted their suit right, if too long, they've skilled their suit up/fitted it right/you're using the wrong weapon for the job.
Fine where it is, nothing to change here.

I feel like TTK is fine for some weapons, personally.
There are a few weapons (CR and HMG) that I feel are insta-blapping people left and right.

I think it should be flattened a little bit. There are weapons that takes ages to kill anyone and other weapons that insta-pop you...

Time to kill is absolutely fine.
Anyways, changing time to kill won't change the dynamics of the outside of making it more dependent on who shoots first and the size of your magazine.

Up, but not by much. Certain weapons certainly seem to kill faster than others but whether this is a TTK issue or specific weapon issues is hard to say. I wouldn't prefer if the TTK was increased overall but it shouldn't be by too much more. Using suits that can cost both in game and real money to just have them instantly blapped away by headshot Scrambler or half a second of fire is frustrating.
I think the game should be less twitch shooter based and a little bit slower like it was during Open Beta.

Ttk is too short regarding all suit with the exception of sentinals, sentinals seem fine in the ttk. HMG is slightly OP though.

It needs to be higher across the board.
A longer TTK promotes a wider possible spectrum of tanking and killing potential, which in turn promotes balance, which we currently don't have. When did we have balance? In Chromosome, when TTK was higher. Scouts moved fast to avoid damage and died to anything more than a sharp gust of wind, Assaults could take some damage and dish it out in bursts, Heavies could eat bullets and deal sustained moderate-high damage.
With the current TTK, that isn't possible. Everything dies fast. So Scouts blap, Assaults gank, Commandos pick off at a distance, and Heavies mow the clone grass. If it doesn't do one of those things the best, it's marginalized. Logis can help heavies, but the Logistics just gets shredded if the pair has to fight anything more than one opponent. Mostly because their Sentinel deals HUGE damage in short bursts, once they have to cool down the support is screwed.
The problem is REALLY obvious with the current "balancing factors" of the Sentinel class. The reason Sentinels have such short overheats is because they have to deal major damage for their HP to have any significance, because their 1300+eHP still gets eliminated in very little time. To compensate, they needed to do loads of damage, and to compensate for that they needed to have high heat buildup. Instead, they need to survive longer and deal lower sustained damage.
That way, in Heavy/Logistics vs. Heavy/Logistics fights, it is about which team can balance reps, damage, and HP management the best, not which one mows the other down first. When you have a group of Assaults/Scouts vs. a Heavy/Logi team, it is about coordinating fire across the Heavy and Logi, while the Heavy tries to protect the Logi while suppressing the attackers. Currently, either 1-2 Assaults/Scouts come in and gank both the Heavy and Logi, or the Heavy mows down all the attackers while the Logi gets destroyed. |

I've started using a magsec as my primary for a longer TTK... jeez the last fun thing in dust now is the social environment and dropship battles.
I haven't played Chrome but lots of people been saying that's when things were close to perfect TTK wise. Still, i support Dust 514 at 90%!
