So all this Warbarge crap was all just hype for an iPhone-esque freemium pay-to-advance spreadsheet that gives you passive bonuses?
And we didn't even get the option to turn off auto inertia dampeners?
These updates are just so pathetic. They promise to undo a completely unnecessary feature and couldn't pull it off even after specifically mentioning it in the patch notes. Like, I'm just flabbergasted how these patches make it through. Literally no one at CCP bothered to check "Hey so we got in that option to turn off auto inertia dampeners right?"
Do you guys even have a god damn QA team?

Was playing with one of my tanker friends and it seems they are still dropping through the map as well. Im pretty sure the new map, warbarges, and squad order points are the only thing that made it into this patch. Way to test your stuff CCP.

Today was the first day in a while that I actually logged on, simply to see what this new patch was about. I saw a lot of new ways to spend AUR, the war-barge and thats about it.
Same vehicles, from what, At least a year now?
Who has to get murdered for custom weapons or suits?

How the inertia damp toggle gets overlooked...it is so classically CCP.
Does anyone double check their work over there?
Does the boss man have meetings asking "So, release is in 3 days. We have ( ) right?"
"Check."
"How about ( )?"
"Check." Etc
But the $ stuff made it in.
I do not have the man crush on Rattati that everyone else seems to.
I understand they are short staffed. But if you can't deliver on what you say, then don't. That is Business 101.

At least they're trying with the resources they have.
And with the limited resources they do have they are doing fairly well.

I wouldn't really consider not following through on specified changes as "doing fairly well" when the listed changes that don't have to do with Aurum are already so meager to begin with.

Now take what I say with a grain of salt because its been a LONG time sense I payed attention. Before no one complained about Aur because exactly what you said. It was there, but not to a point of Pay to Win. It helps, but it was not a complete game changer. The issue (it seems) is that this update was strictly about making money, there was not a balance. From what I can tell, there still is not a pay to win system, but there is simply a lot more ways to spend your money.

And you have no room to complain. IT IS A FREE GAME. You didn't have to waste money on it. It won't change your experience. Just play the game, have your reservations and post your complaints on the forum.
You will be met by some who completely agree with you and some who will outright disagree like I am.
Just to be clear I am not arguing the validity of your argument, only making my own counter-argument.

None of the patches have EVER been great on the first day.
In 1.7, you saw incredibly over powered rifles (RR and CR), and tanks that look like they had NOS on them every time they hit a booster (it was hilarious).
In 1.8, your passive bonuses didn't take effect for 30 seconds.
I can't even remember some of the others.
Give it time. It will take time for warbarges to be upgraded before we really start seeing what they can do and how they can affect the game.
