On subject: I dont think that a 5% damage increase will change much. As some said before, it'll be almost unnoticeable. You can try it right now, just put a 5% damage mod on your weapon an tell me if you honestly feel the difference.
Now, why people complains about ScR? ALL weapons will deal 5% more damages on your shield AND armor. Why all this ScR QQ?

1 damage mod does make a difference when you know how to aim or judge damage correctly. I would rather this 5% damage buff apply to damage mods to promote the greater use of them. As someone already did the math up above, this damage boost can be abused very easily if done correctly. The way he described it is a very extreme and rare one. He wrote something like 175 splash damage for the experimental MD on a proto minMando. Now take out 5% and you have something like 167. Does that really make a difference? I dont think so. It CAN make a difference don't get me wrong, but not a very noticeable one compare to what we have now.
Let's wait and see, I'm not really scared about this honestly.
