I remember the promises, I remember the concept, anyone else want PVE? I would love a single day of playing dust with my friends in a mode without pub stompers, laggers or Q-syncs, I don't care if the pay is absolutely poor or there is no SP involved, I just hate playing matches where all my friends except the most skilled get screwed over
Because both of us dying as I'm in my nomad BPO is to my benefit

Yes please. If I could only have one major addition to the game in the future it would be PVE. Sometimes I just don't want to fight Prima Gallicus's seven proto stomp squads for the four hundredth consecutive game...
I don't care if the AI has the old turret aim (shooting LAV drivers out of their moving vehicles...and leaving the vehicle untouched) or the pay is entirely in strongboxes, I just want somewhere to have fun that doesn't involve fighting against enemy players.

Its just a matter of what is realistic to expect at this point.

Just run a BPO or suit with standard gear.

Yes please. But remember that CCP dust devs have to work with right now. Maybe in time but I doubt if it even happens this year. In reality its something we can expect to see in legion if that ever happens but in dust it is unlikely.

The biggest thing would be how to balance PVE's economy with the rest of the game.
Frankly, I want to see the PVE similar to what they were proposing a while back: Drone attacks a PI node, EVE capsuleer hire mercs, Dust players take out drones and receive contract rewards through what the EVE pilot has setup.
There would be a lot needing to be done, but it would open a new gamemode and a new playerbase to Dust as well as strengthen a very weak EVE-DUST link.

They seem to be working on it.
For Legion.
From what I remember of things discussed by CCP at other points previously. My memory is vague so don't remember any specifics. Take that with a grain of salt.
That being said, don't expect it for Dust unless there are dramatic changes in the size of Dust's development team.

PvE will bea great team building exercise, or a great mode to strengthen your tactics when fighting drones(which is what I would imagine we would be fighting against in PvE)

We have PVE. It consists almost entirely of trying to walk up the hills in Line Harvest. Now, if you mean *casual* PVE, that's a different story.

Here is an example. I remember making a thread about Planetary Conquest, player trade, and new maps 8 months ago.
The vets were saying to me " oh dont get hype and ****. "
What do you know now.
Player trade - Coming in the next release = Its happening.
PC 2.0 - Coming in next release = Its also happening.
Caldari Production facility = Check.
New maps = Check although more are coming
Moods = Check
Warbarage = Check and coming next Tuesday so Ill be waking up very early xD lol
Bpo's coming back = Check
Hav, Uhav, and Shav = coming as well very soon.
Logi dropship and lav = very soon again.
And other things.
Pve = I am very confident again.
Dont let these wankers tell you what cant happen because many of these things are happening

I am torn on the idea of PVE.
On one hand it would be great for new players and a great way to break the monotony of doing the same matches against the same people over and over.
On the other hand there are so many things that need to be prioritized above this. PVE would also divide the small player base and cause more issues for match making and FW. |
