This would possibly require some recoding of the fittings screen.
Since I'm bad at explaining, I'll simply go through a journey of what I had in mind for being able to swap the dropsuit modules and equipment, without exploitation.
Open fittings screen.
Create new.
Select APEX 'Kampo' Logistics. (This is the Caldari Logistics for those unsure.)
Fitting comes up to edit.
I don't like the position of the Ferroscale plate being in between the two Shield Regulators. I'll change that. I select the Ferroscale plate.
Instead of the option "Replace", it has the option "Swap".
With the Ferroscale plate highlighted, I am able to choose another low slot module. I select the lower Shield Regulator.
The modules switch.
Almost done, but I want to change my equipment slot layout. I select the Nanohive and again select "Swap".
I choose the Nanite Injector, and now my layout from right to left is as follows: Far-right) Nanite Injector Middle) Repair Tool Left) Nanohives
I press O and return to the main fittings screen. I once again select the fitting and select "Rename".
I rename the fit to "Hive Logi". (Just as an example.)
I press Start and save the name. It's finally ready to go.
High slots can be swapped with other high slots. No other modules can be added.
Lows slots can be swapped with other low slots. No other modules can be added.
Equipment slots can be swapped around. No other equipment can be added.
The only suit capable of swapping weapon slots would be the Commando suits, as they hold 2 light weapons and can be switched around. (However, I'm not sure many people would use this.)
No need to dabble with CPU and PG. I had foreseen an issue with doing that in the first place. Set the CPU and PG too low, beginner players wouldn't be able to use it. Leave it as it is, the vets passive skills would boost them to unbelievable proportions and weaponize every suit with Damage Mods and Kin Cats.
Honestly, while there are some fittings that need work (those poor Caldari suits), they should not be editable by any means unless the Devs decide to switch some fits around. Beyond that, a player should be able to determine slot layout, but not have any ability to strap on any BPO they want.
Can the Dev team manage to do something like this?

So in short, you're asking to move the position of the modules/equipment around in the fitting screen but not actually edit the fit at all, other than position change?

I think the swap option would be a nice addition to the dropsuit menu anyway. While your at it why not add a copy option to copy a module you would like to have multile times. |
