I hope it works like Monopoly online.
One person makes a proposition which includes items and/or ISK, the other person makes a similar offer. Both of them have to agree. A chat should be added in this mode to allow discourse.

Also a Daily limit witch can be increased by training "Trading" x2 Allows one extra trade for each point.

the safest way for player trading would be the contract system in EVE where i set a contract to a specifici player, pick the items i wanna send, the isk i wanna receive (and isk i want to send in some cases) click create and the other player gets a notification.
as long as the receiving player checks the details and contents properly there should be limited whining posts about players being scammed

On the road map simple trading has been moved to Q2 and is still marked normal priority.
