I've been solo for the last few hours now using a Logi (UL, hives, scanner, rep tool)
This has been the case for the last hour or two now vs the same squad of

Park Yoon-Hee
& possibly one other (not paying to much attention)
Aswell as Repping, ULing, and scanning it seems the matchmaker wants me to get more than 20 ******* kills as we lost.
We really need smaller squads for pubs and no regional servers (playerbase not big enough anymore)
If I wasnt in the games for the last few hours the blue dots would have being utterly stomped by this squad over and over.

It seems that even average players are getting very good mu scores. It is almost impossible for me to take any game serious solo anymore. Every time I run solo, its me and half a decent squad of randoms, as we all score top 5, vs. 2 veteran corp squads. The "blues" on each side usually end up with 15-20 deaths and no kills.
The extremely low player count is still an issue though. I myself would rather wait 5 minutes to get into a match if they are better matches. Its a fine balance between retaining new players (who usually dont want to wait -- instant gratification,) and still making matches competitive.

I don't think average players having high Mu scores is the issue.
If I'm not mistaken, the way players were gathered into a match hasn't been touched in a long time. Mu only affects how the teams are sorted after players have been gathered. So if Uber Squad, Okay Player and bunch of newbies get gathered into a match, all Okay Player needs is a not-horrible Mu score to be pitted against the Uber Squad.

Exactly, atm the line up is:
TEAM 1
Uber squad
13th highest ranked mu
15th highest ranked mu
etc etc
TEAM 2
Next 6 highest ranked mu
14th highest ranked mu
16th highest ranked mu
etc etc
If there's only 1 decent squad (above 3 players) I think it should go:
TEAM 1
Uber squad (6)
23rd to 32nd highest mu players
TEAM 2
7th - 22nd highest mu players
Teamwork is OP, 6 average players on mic in a squad is better than 10/11 average players not comunicating
If I'm totally honest though I don't mind soloing atm, only thing worse than being let down by your team is stomping lol (YAWN!)

Removing 2 of the players from the enemy team wouldn't have stopped you from getting stomped.

I wonder what would happen if you went into a ambush queue and Scotty built teams based on a pool of multiple matches. It might take a few minutes of syncing, but over the coarse of an hour or so you'd get many more quality matches.

In closed beta you did not have players at 70 - 80 million SP with hundreds of millions of ISK. Maybe instead of more band aids someone should understand that you can not do match making based on K/D and W/L. It is really common sense that these stats would become skewed by match making doing its job thus negating itself exactly in the way that happened.
