Everybody here has to agree that there is something wrong with getting in an tank, for example, and hoping out as soon as you see somebody to kill him. You do it , I do it , everyone does it.
You just feel bad ( except if you're a scrub ). It isn't fair as the merc on the field doesn't have the time to react. And let's speak of those who get out of their vehicle to kill AV and hoping back in ... man , f*** you ! How is this right CCP ? Do I really have to get high on a tower if I want to engage an LAV with my forge gun. This mechanic is just disgusting and needs fixing. I'd suggest a 5 second delay animation to be the solution.
The merc on the field will have time to act. Also make the LAV say << Pilot preparing for exit >> , just like when a tank has a damage mod activated, when you hover your crosshair over it !
It is sad to see how being good in this game means abusing broken mechanics. Yet I am not a developer and I can't do nothing about it. I can only hope something get's changed.

I'm getting really ******* tired of my DS shoving me off of edges and kicking me out in completely random locations. That definitely needs work. Every seat should correspond to a definite exit so you know where you're popping out.

Ah, the DropShip ride. It's like being trapped in a clothes dryer with your head in a football helmet, welded in the back to the dryer barrel. All the while, you are trying to thread a needle mounted on a broomstick and held by a jack Russell Terrier on *******.
On a more related note, tankers should only be able to leave their vehicles when "docked" to a resup unit.

I agree.
However, Rattati did his due diligence and found that the best they could do was send the merc to black screen and limbo, and the mechanic was so clunky that they felt it was worse with it.
If that could be changed in the future, it would definitely be a good addition, but it is probably low on the priority list.

I wonder if a Weapon Delay could be added when exiting a vehicle? I know it does not address the instantaneous pop into a vehicle but it might make enough impact on the hop out killer.

Mmm? And when all the supply depots are blown up? Then what? Yeah... I thought you put no thought into that thought.
That's the same as demanding all Dropsuits have to stop, look down the crosshair, and kneel before the "safety" turns off and they can shoot.
Actually, it might be closer to forcing someone to have to look down the crosshair if they want to shoot the gun, but the only place they can engage the crosshair is if they are next to a supply depot, which would mean they'd have to travel to a supply depot to look down the crosshair, then waddle around the map without letting go of the scope in order to fire at anything.
All three are absurdist ideas.
They're not actual ideas.
An entry exit animation or timer is being realistic, even the idea that Heavies cannot drive vehicles, or possibly it takes time to "pick up" your weapon from the car after getting out. I mean those are actual ideas going around the forums.
Might want to get your head out of the dirt.

Also make us know where we are going to exit out by switching seats for example if we want an exit to the left ... Suggested by Awesome Pantaloons.

+1 if you support the message. So ... let me get this right , I'm suppose to feel bad about defending my asset and destroying you .?. who's trying to destroy me in the process .?.. is that what's suppose to be going on here ?
Some of the best AV players use HAV's , it's not just swarms or forges and I wouldn't think less of the time that I put in to play less , does that make me a try hard or observant .?. I play solo and no PC and stay broke .
I better be out there making it hard for the opponent .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

I would like to add a hack style delay to the exit of any vehicle by the pilot (or to switch seats) but passengers get to exit immediately

250ms delay for light frames.
500ms delay for medium frames.
750ms delay for heavy frames.
1.0 modifier for LAVs, 1.5 modifier for dropships, 2.0 modifier for HAVs
Simple solution, not outlandish and I don't think is terribly unreasonable.

1. I jump out with a heavy and HMG for the following reasons 1a. Large missiles which fire a 6ft missile does no splash against a scout - Just i have to jump out to kill them 1b. Large blaster accuracy was nerfed and removed and replaced with dispersion and luck - My HMG is more accurate and has more range than a blaster 1c. Small blasters exactly the same as large blasters 1d. Small rails - Requires aim and im fine with that, not fine with infantry complaining that it should be an AV weapon only and not AI and looking to get it nerfed 1e. Small missiles - They have splash so i can kill infantry 1f. All small turrets are facting the wrong way if you use a LAV, on a HAV the front turret is terrible for positioning and the top moves when the drive moves the main turret |
