From my understanding and knowledge of RE's and how fun they can be, they do provide a nuisance for people who are trying to kill there opponent in varying scenarios. I just thought of this because in Eve smart bombs take time to detonate before exploding anyone within range of it, it's a good way too bring most big ships into structure but the only drawback is the arming time.
Now, I am in no means against RE's, I love them just as much as any other matari soldier does, but people do have a means of using them as a way to get "quick insta-kills" in CQC and when they have them in their hands at an unsuspecting time.
My proposal would be: Increase the Remote Explosive arming time to 3.5 seconds and in return, give one of the suits a bonus reduction to RE arming time to compensate, preferably the logistics or assault.
Problems it would solve: 1. CQC throwing and not fighting when engaged by someone you don't want to deal with. 2. Not having time to react when thrown far distances and you just see it.
And lastly... Fix the packed RE's please=ƒæì

Supposedly arming time was changed to 5 seconds across the board, although I have heard that didn't take, or ma.
At the very least, prior to the change, Std REs were at 4 seconds, with Adv being 3 seconds, and Pro were 2.
So really, only the Pro REs prior to the supposed changes were significantly different than what you are proposing, with Std REs actually taking a fraction of a second longer.
I do think there should be some fix for throwing from a height however. It is a minor fix that takes care of some of the abuses without reducing their viability for those using them as intended.
Thunderbolt. verb and noun.

They should've fixed that. It would've prevented a lot of QQ about them. Other than that It should be one specific arm time across the board anyways and give a bonus to the logistics or assault that lowers that time

Salutations, Knight Guard,GǪ butg please be careful about proposing a change to quickly for items in Dust. The devs are very compliant (sometimes way too willing, in my opinion) to entertain changes just because a mob of rioting supporters get behind someone's proposal for change. Often the situation that is bothering us is just the newest gimmick that imps are trying to exploit, in a game that they otherwise aren't learning to be very skilled at, and don't really know how best to play.
The Domination matches I enjoyed last week were plagued with a few Cloaked-players wearing Black Eagles Scout Suits (GǪI swear, Officer, I saw the perp, and he was dressed like one of those Gallente Policemen, honest!), pogo-jumping over our heads like evil goblins and plopping RE's beside us faster than a diarrhetic pigeon can poop!
I must have been killed four times by these RE's in one match, and three times in the next match-----but BOTH matches were won by my side, because the RE gimmick can't even push one team out of any area effectively enough for the other team to take it over.
It's a nuisance, but not even a half-descent strategy for controlling anything in Dust. Like the cloak-shotties and cloak-knifers, I'm not sure that trying to curb them out ways the serious risk of making matters worse.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

I understand where your getting at, but, CCP had already intended that the arming time be higher, But failed to do so. Even though you have me a good example of how they are used, that's exactly what I'm pointing out. Remote explosives should be more of a risk vs reward type of thing where so that if you plant them some where, you need to be sure where you are impaired to your enemy, and that you positioned them to where the enemy may or may not be. The fact that people spam remotes is just ridiculous and could use a slight change.
And I'm only suggesting that they introduce this along with a bonus on the matari logi or assault, where it would be best fitted on.
