I really liked Arena-shooters back in the day, but looking at the new gameplay trailer for Toxikk I realised I came to dislike the hectic fast-paced playstyle of those.

What about the Arma series? Sure it's OHK but getting that hit isn't the easiest thing to do I guess. Well, then again it is on the same level as Dust when it comes to clunkyness of controls, and optimisation. Lol

Hm, it is really hard to find a game that is similar to Dust. A game that:

has large battlefields
has combined warfare
is not twitchy (in a sense of fast-paced movement, and arena-shooter like reaction time requirement)
few OHK situations
leveling progression that lasts as long
has the same level of loadout customisation
ownership of stuff in the universe (not only districts, but also owning your suits, weapons, and vehicles)
has the social features like in-built custom (voice-)chat channels, and corps/alliances, which is IMO one of Dusts greatest features
and not to forget: is still active and actively worked on

I guess it's Dust's strength that, though it doesn't really have a lot of features that you couldn't find in other games, the fact that it combines all those features in one game makes it kinda unique.

I still play it far more than DUST, because it doesn't punish casual play, and matches are almost always 20 or so seconds apart. It's so stripped down, strategy actually works, and matters. And, little loopholes in the gameplay reveal themselves in delightful ways that don't break the game. Behold! The Blue Crater!

OMG Toxikk! Q3 + UT99 + twisted science = Toxikk? I think it looks awesome. Will play. Btw Insurgency is a well made game (except for the zoom optics rendering at a delay to the rest of the game...) but the campy playstyle on almost all servers has made it a no-go for me. :/ Though the co-op does remind me of the good old Rainbow games, which is pretty awesome. Re: Dust I think I've developed some kind of love-hate, bitter-vet, beaten-wife syndrome mixed with a bit of Stockholms towards Dust. CCP has found a Niche of it's own for Dust, they just need to fix the damn input delay and variable msec/frame and low fps and it would actually be enjoyable to play the damn thing... Gû¼+¦GòÉGòÉn¦ñ
