We all need to come up with some sort of PC proposal done by the PC community and present it to Rattati on our behalf.
Roman and Ghostt Shadoww making threads telling everyone what needs to happen because they are Dust Gods obviously isn't going to work. |

The easiest solution is to take the Districts.
Change the timer on the District, launch the clones at another District and let someone in the community scoop it up as you just keep rolling through.

In game drama aside. I can do this. I will take lead on it. Outside of this game. ..not only am I leader in the military...I am on a **** tone of committees. I am a good organizer and just because I misspell words and have run on sentences on here while typing fast on my cell...does not mean I can't put together quite the formal presentation. I said people who do not participate in pc...should not be the ones bring listened to about pc mechanics. That is a fact.
I've never used a scrambler rifle. Should I make a post and keep reposting it and screaming till my face is blue trying to get that gun changed? No. Because I havnt used it and can't comment on it.

That is what my post suggested. Before idiots started getting defensive of their ideas. CCP needs to talk with us. Or this games most active players. Will be gone.
I am personally keeping a few dozen players logging on and not leaving for different games. And they are keep others in. We are on thin water.
Change the game that weakens our structure. And it's over.
It's amazing...the people arguing with me on that post...All start off by saying "well I don't pc...but I think your wrong" or are people who don't even pc.
This change is pc specific. If it was about gun and suit stats. I don't care I'll adapt. But it's not. It effects something I am directly involved in. Daily...And have been since it came out

This is pretty correct. The discussion needs to come from ALL leadership in PC, not just guys on your contact lists
Of course the top corps should have an opinion heard, at one stage they owned almost 100% of MH.
But CCP want to open PC to the players not involved, and a chat like that did not include them
If any gathering like that is to work, CCP need to host it, not the active PC community
Like it or not, the corps not in PC have opinions on this too

This might be the most competent post I've seen in the War Room this year. :)
Now is the time, folks. There's time right now for feedback and discussion, but once it goes to code, it's going to be a lot harder to change. Logical proposals, with clear reasons for changes and how they're expected to affect the game is key.

Soraya, any outline as to key aspects that should be clearly defined would be of great assistance. I wish not to bury CCP in litigation or arbitrary embellishment and get straight to the facts within a devised proposal. As in, here's this and what it does, here is how it is better than the current situation, here is alternatives if you disagree. Obviously I've never dealt with these guys, so I have no idea how they prefer information be presented to them. |

Well, it's key that it not be exploitable/farmable, allows more people to get into PC, and is rewarding to participate in. At least to me, those are the key goals. We don't want a painful system that's just draining the cash of newbies trying to get into it.
It should ideally be designed with an eye on the amount of effort that would be required to implement it as the dev team is small. There are already topics in the feedback board about Timers, Rewards, and a minimum attack threshold thing, which is basically intended to ensure real corps participate in PC. There's also the thread about Warbarge Designs, which I think also details some of the corporate warbarge concept and how that should interact.
If an idea is bad, the best way to kill it is with logic. "This is how this fix will be exploited" or "This is why this fix is not effective". Statements that an idea is horrible aren't really helpful. ;)
For your own ideas, I recommend each idea explicitly state the impact you hope the change will have. We've gotta be able to follow your train of thought on the effects of a change.
Rattati tends to disregard embellishment and drama, but logic makes it through. He's a math guy. He sends us a lot of Excel spreadsheets. ;)

If I were in charge of PC, I would scrap the entire thing. To me, it's entirely too complicated and explotiable as a result.
I'd simplify by making MH ladder of planets/districts, with a decreasing payout from top to bottom. Add to this some idea of open times to attack, an in-match division of isk (I like the 2:1 ratio between winners and losers), and there you have it.
Easy to understand, nothing to exploit, no barrier to entry, and rewarding good fights. |
