Sure, just send them the line of code or piece of hardware they need to change that is economically feasible and won't change the rest of the game and I am sure they will get right on it.
Because, that's why.

- Don't pitch a ***** on the forums like this. Even if you have a point (and you do) you will be ignored because you are ranting like a tired toddler who missed his nappy time. Also, rant too hard and it can be reported. Get reported too many times and you'll be given a nice involuntary vacation from the forums.
- Have you tried completely uninstalling Dust then reinstalling it? If so, when what the last time you did? This seemed to help my loading times and even my FPS. I do it every couple weeks now, just to make sure Dust is running the best it can run.
- Are you using a router or is the PS3 connected with a hard line? I switched from router to a hard line and lag diminished in certain maps.

Rebuilding your database for your PS3 is another good idea and one I'd suggest before uninstalling and re-installing, FYI its available on the system menus if you hold the power button in but follow a walkthrough so you don't accidentally wipe your machine

AHHHHH!
The incorrect use of terminology is going to kill me
router - this is the piece that sits between the modem and you. It "routes" your requests to/from the internet to the right page. Wireless Access Point - sometimes built into the router. provides WiFi for devices to connect to.
It's universally better to have a separate router and wireless access point because you can get the wireless access point in a more central location and provide better coverage for WiFi
I often find that people complaining about lag have improperly configured networks or crap equipment.
I hardly ever see lag in Dust, but I also work with networks every day, so my home configuration is more advanced than most. |

My EYES! They Bleed!
Seriously though, the amount of things people blame on CCP when in reality it's probably their own $hit connection is astonishing.
Having a wired connection makes all the difference. There's no interference, there's massively more bandwidth. Hell, the retail cost on the wireless access point I have in my house was 700 bucks when I bought it. I have a full gigabit network from modem to router to switch. I don't have those speeds from Comcast (yet) but my internal network is not going to be a problem.
To OP, quit complaining to CCP because of what is, most probably, your own fault. |

There is no excuse for throwing a fit of rage like how you did in your OP. If I were you, I recommend that you completely uninstall the game and then reinstall it. What may be happening is that the legacy code from the previous patches might be causing problems with the new code that's put into the client. Uninstalling and then reinstalling will help clear some problems. Another advantage of doing this is that it cuts down on client bloating which seems to happen over time when you haven't uninstalled and then reinstalled in a very long time (as in months). A client that would normally be about 2GB in size would explode to 3-4GB if you don't do this regularly.
Another thing to do is cut down on your chat channels. If you have too many chat channels active, it creates problems. So I suggest you start dropping out of channels you don't frequently use.
One more thing is to elevate your PS3. It might be getting hot because the shelf is reflecting the heat from the PS3 back to the PS3. Placing a couple of blocks under the PS3 to create a space underneath it to vent it better will improve the cooling. Also, put the PS3 in an open area instead of a closed shelf and clean the fan every once in a while.
You're welcome.

I also restock "froze" today on the gallente facility map. I don't know why but today I played on it like 10 times, and everysingle time the battles were lagged like hell! This map should be deleted for our PS3's sake.

I have tried every "trick" there is to improve the framrate/lag issue with this game as well as the hard freezes, internal errors and disconnections with this game. Every suggestion provided to me by both the community and from help tickets has failed to work in any way.
Stupid little tricks can not make up for terrible coding. And Dust lag has always been awful but the declining player base is amplifying this problem now.
It is almost impossible for me to play a game now where there aren't 56k dial up latinos lagging my game out as well as Asians matrixing through my bullets.
It makes me sad because CCP squandered an amazing game concept with Dust. They could have done something truly amazing but instead we got empty promises and a game filled with problems.

Stupid little tricks can not make up for terrible coding. And Dust lag has always been awful but the declining player base is amplifying this problem now. So, how is it then that some players receive much less lag than you? There are maybe two spots in two maps where if enough players are all firing simultaneously, while my chat channels are active, that I will experience a dip in FPS. If I leave that area it returns to normal.
I'm not disagreeing that the isn't optimized. It certainly isn't running as well as it should. I'm just saying that your experience isn't typical.
I know it's extreme, but have you ever considered modding your PS3? One of the CPM1 officers (I think it was Kevall) replaced the thermal paste on his PS3's CPU and claims it worked wonders. Apparently Sony uses the cheapest paste they can afford on their PS3's. Someone else has posted a tutorial on how to vent the PS3 better by drilling small holes in the bottom.
Izlare Lenix wrote:It is almost impossible for me to play a game now where there aren't 56k dial up latinos lagging my game out as well as Asians matrixing through my bullets. Yeah, this is 100% CCP's doing. We need to region lock our servers. I don't care AT ALL if my wait times jump up to 2 - 5 minutes, I don't want players halfway across the world in my matches.

It could be something else that may be beyond CCP's control. I'm not saying CCP is not at fault either, but just pointing out the possibility considering that I'm not experiencing any of these problems you speak of. I can't even remember the last time my PS3 froze for whatever reason. If the game is really that badly coded, how come I'm not experiencing the exact same problems now? I do see a little bit of lag once in a blue moon but that's it.
EDIT: I have the 12GB PS3 Slim

My PS3 is not very old. Less than two years. I have had many, many issues with Dust that several of my friends also experienced. From randomly falling through maps, to completely hard freezing my 18 months of Dust has been plagued with problem after problem.
When I was with VU and we were running PC every day there was a period of time when around 10 out of roughly 40 PC players could not be squad leaders because we could not deploy a squad into a PC without a problem.
I could not open the corporate contracts menu without INSTANTLY getting an internal error. This glitch was shared by many others in my Corp.
To be honest I have had so many random errors that have come and gone with Dust I can't even list them all.
I have lost so many millions in ADSs from hardfreezing while in mid air it makes me sad.
The only winner of WWIII will be the cockroaches.
