As you all i know i have all min apex suits, unfortunately, many of them are not that good. Just recently I got my Amarr Fatty to replace my min fatty and wow... I luv it. I can go toe to toe with other heavies now and destroy medium and light suits.
I almost have the perfect squad set up, I luv the min logi for logi stuff, amarr fatty for defense and pushing, calmando for sniping.
I want an AV suit and been eyeing that gal fatty forge with dmg mod.... but I also want to replace my min scout because i dont like it and cant do much slaying nor hacking and i think the gal shotty suit would be a good replacement.
I'm 7k from the next gal suit and its between scout and fatty forge. Please help me decide which i should get first.
The min assault is ok too but i eventually want to replace it with the cal assault so im not looking into the gal assault either.

if we aint 5 capped and it feels really close to the point where 1 merc will make the differences between win/loss and im not playing league... ill pick up the control...

Well, a shotgun scrub suit will make you even more scrub-like than an AFK'er scrub
i'd say the gal heavy any day

I have the APEX serpent scout (aurum version, bought it on day 1 of availability). When I bought it I had ADV Gal scout skills and SG proficiency 3 or 4. (Cores are maxed). At that time, the suit was okay, keeping in mind that CCP has changed the load out slightly since initial - no more RE's. It wasn't as good a fit as I could make on my G/1, but it was acceptable.
Since then, I've skilled out of Gal scout and SG on this toon, and running the APEX serpent scout now is a chore. It seems without the skills behind it, it's just not as good a performer. It still works.......it's just not up to my expectations.
I don't know anything about the Gal heavy, though.
This really is a decision based on your individual wants. I would, however, consider what skills you have to back stop the fitting. Given your tenure here, though, I'm guessing you have the skills for pretty much any fit.

On the contrary, all my skills were in derpshiping. zero proto suits/weapons. While im slowly farming my core, i did throw in some skills randomly into weapons. My goal is to make these apex suits decent to have some fun on the ground since flying hasnt been... as fun.
I want the gal fatty as a substitute for the militia AV bpo. I want the gal scout for its slaying capabilities and speed. Eventually i'll get both. but for right now im looking for the one that will keep me entertained while I grind for the other. Makes sense?

Oh, well then.
The APEX gal scout speed is so-so for a gal scout - personally, I like G/1 or gk.0 with a complex kin cat for sprinting in the 8+ m/s range.
The std cloak is next to worthless and the dampeners on it won't hide you from much. So you will have to be stealthy.
Up close kills with the SG are no problem, but how well you can jump, bob and weave will determine how well you can kill with it on the move.
If you're good with a pistol the Ion Pistol will work for you; if you're not, well then good luck.
The suit comes with some sorry a55, near MLT grade uplinks. You can get points off of them, but only if no one else is putting out links.
