These people buying respecs are feeding people 100s of dollars each. I have talked with so many people that have bought 8 - 10 respecs on just their main character. This is HARDLY a one time customer.

first, I dont use the CR, but I know maths and the exact values of the CR & ScR, unlike alot of people (you included). note that ScR + armor shredding sidearm does way more overall dps than CR + whatever sidearm you fit.

second, you are free to point me towards the post where I cry about getting killed by ScR, oh wait, you cant because it never happened.

third, you claim you can "aim" better with CR? how is that so, please explain? does the different color & shape of the weapon makes you hit less? oh I know, you are just a spray and pray scrub, that is why you cant hit with the ScR. if your lack of aiming skill is your only argument then maybe you should join Dust Uni, I will teach you how to

have you ever tried to take out an armor suit with more then 500 hp with no damage mods? its quite the difficult task.....

I used all the weapons far longer than you, I just respecced out of it to try out new stuff without the need of grinding for SP.

Max ScR Armor DPS: 520

Keep in mind that Max DPS is also much easier to achieve on a CR than it is on an ScR, which widens the gap in real use.

500 Armor HP is still 500 HP.

Most suits are armor tanked, and armor tanked suits have more armor than shield tanked suits have shields, so overall a percentage increase to armor damage is much more valuable than the same percentage increase to shield damage, so yes, if you trade -5% shield dmg for +5% armor damage, in the current meta of the game its a substantial buff.

Not that I mind, I've been advocating tightening the profile of the scrambler rifle for a while, because that weapon is prohibitively overpowered against shield tankers. Nobody seems to care though. Its like people think having a weapon that is effective at all ranges up to ~90ish meters that can wipe out any amount of shields in the game in under a second is fair.

TTK is pretty quick in this game but the scrambler rifle against shield suits is just bullshit quick. And dont tell me any other rifle is even comparable, they require consistant dps over a couple of seconds or more to take someone down, and they cant deliver the majority of that damage in the first half second of a fight, they are forced to deliver it over time which gives people time to react and take cover.

Well, I dont think shields and armor are balanced against each other, theres lots of reasons like the laser weapons have absurd profiles, regen not really being better for shields after the armor rep buff, existence of triage hives and rep tools dramatically favor armor tank, and so forth, but thats another thread.

For these scrambler threads I just like to mention that I'd rather not have rifle weapons in the game that can insta wipe shields in under half a second with high precision, good long range performance, good CQC performance, good effective ranges, and with no real drawback. ;d

I just dont think the drawbacks are special, rail rifles have worse drawbacks these days with the kick/charge mechanic changes, and it takes more skill to time bursts to maximize dps on combat rifles than to just not shoot more than 18 shots, and you dont have to use it on the slowest suit in the game, which isnt the amar assault anyway.
