So ive been thinking of some changes to logis that would make them less... bad. As it stands they are slow and vulnerable (and also damage magnets but thats logical)
Im just going to get this out of the way first - to prevent slayer logis, assaults would need to have a damage bonus to light weapons. Its ridiculous that commandos get a damage bonus to 2 weapons simultaneously while an assault cant get a damage bonus to 1 - but thats another story.
First off is slot layout - all logis should have a sidearm (more on this later) and 3 equipment at basic and advanced (4 at proto) in exchange for this they would lose grenades and one non-tank related slot when compared to their assault brothers - This prevents brick tanked shield suits and damage stacked armor suits. (Min Logi would lose a low slot to have 2 armor 2 shield logis)
As far as base survivability, either identical to assaults or slightly less HP than them(still more than current logi HP) and significantly increased regeneration.
As far as bonuses, i dont think logis should be shoehorned into specific suits for specific equipment. If anything, all logis get bonuses to all equipment, but all logis get a stronger bonus to their own racial equipment.
And finally, this is probably a bit of a nerf but it ties together with my point about sidearms - im proposing a major change to core focused rep tools and inclusion of a new type of rep tool. First off - focused rep tools would be moved to the light weapon slot. This leaves a logi more vulnerable, with only a sidearm, but offers a stronger rep tool, and more room for equipment. Focused rep tools would also be availible at advanced (~88-95hp/s at 5m range). Im also proposing a new 'quantum' repair tool, that also uses the light weapon slot, availible at adv and proto, that offers +1 locked target (2 at adv, 3 at proto) possibly increased range / rep ammount based on feedback. |

Im open to better suggestions for buffing logis so they can atleast defend themselves but staying away from slayer logis. |

You want logistics suits to have a repair tool instead of a light weapon, and lose their grenade slot, and have more hit points and regeneration.
I don't think you actually care about logistics players at all. I think you want more people to be repairing you, and for you to do more damage.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

There is a 60 page ideas/feedback thread now on page 1 of this forum. The first post has lots of charts and figures to look at all about logi's.
Post some feedback and ideas.

I freely defer to Cross or Pokey on this. If pressed for a recommendation, I'd propose swapping Logi and Assault movement profiles. Speed and HP should be inversely related, and there are lots of logical reasons for a combat medic class to be swift footed. That said, I wouldn't recommend doing the Logi any favors until the HMG is squared away. |

If Logi's are to lose their main weapon and stripped down the bare minimum in offensive combat, they better get a repair tool that rivals that of Remote Reps in EVE. As in, more than capable of completely negating incoming DPS on whatever they're repping. Repair Tools in Dust are sad excuses for something carrying the title "Logistics" in the EVE universe. We're talking like a 500% increase in HP/s
Personally I don't really see why people are so keen on stripping the Light Weapon away from the Logistics. There seems to be this false notion that Logistics in Dust are supposed to be purely medics, but if that were the case they wouldn't be sporting scanners, uplinks, hives, ect. Repairing is of course one of the main functions of the Logistics, but it is not the only thing they do.
Quite simply Logistics is "Support" and support can come in many different forms. Medical Support, Resource Procurement, Personnel and Asset Transportation, and Combat Support. Its a hybrid of several subroles that culminate into the singular "Support" role. Even things as simple as apply additional or indirect DPS to a target, or clearing an objective of remotes before hacking. These are all part of its Combat Support role, and many of which require a light weapon and/or grenade to properly execute.
Additionally it can often be more advantageous for a Logistics to pull out its light weapon (which does significantly more DPS than his rep tool can negate) and help his Heavy finish off a target faster, which means less time spent repairing the lost HP on said heavy. So I know its easy to say "Oh just remove their light weapon so they're force to play support!" but here is the deal, that light weapon is a big part of their ability to play support. You take that away, and you wont be making their ability to support better, you'll be making it much much worse.
Now as I mentioned before, if you made their reps are powerful as they would be in EVE (Logistics ships in EVE don't have weapons, but they're extremely tanky and capable of repping much faster than incoming DPS), then I might buy the Sidearm Only concept, but honestly I think that's dangerous territory and you're best left keeping the Logistics and a hybrid role.
