Hello fellow mercenaries, I hope you are all well this evening. I would like to propose a new feature for CCP to consider, and I would also like to hear the community's suggestions and criticisms.
We have three levels of weapon sight zoom magnification, and they are all subject to the same sensitivity setting. Personally, this becomes somewhat problematic for me, as I frequently deploy onto the battlefield with whichever weapon will work best given the current combat scenario. While I most often use an assault variant of the CR or the AR, there are a number of situations in which other variants with increased scope fidelity are more appropriate.
I propose that each zoom magnification has its own X & Y sensitivity in the controller options menu:
ADS E.g. Ironsights, SMG
I prefer the sensitivity for iron sights at 100%, anything less would hinder my mobility and ability to react.
HFADS (High fidelity ADS) E.g. Burst and Tactical variants, small turrets.
I prefer to dial the sensitivity back to 50-75% for variants with high fidelity sights. Tracking targets on the outer end of your range becomes more efficient, and firing on the inside of your range is not negatively affected.
HMADS (High magnification ADS) E.g. Sniper rifles and Large turrets
Honestly, I will sometimes dial the ADS down as low as 35%, depending on how far away my target is. Lining up headshot, or picking off uplinks near your outer range is ridiculous with ADS at 100%.
In addition to, or perhaps instead of the proposal above, I would like to suggest that CCP create an ADS sensitivity dialog that can be launched from the in-match spawn selection/ fitting screen. Currently, It takes a hot damn minute to toggle all the way into the controller options menu to change and save your ADS sensitivity. A lot of things can happen while you are dicking with menus, especially since it has to be done on the battlefield.
These suggestions are far from being critical enhancements to the dust experience, but they would certainly improve at least one aspect of my gameplay. I suspect that others would find such options beneficial as well. I'm sure that many will find what I have proposed to be utterly pointless, depending on how often they switch roles or combat scenarios. I would love to hear some opinions, particularly from mercs who use several weapon variants! |
