9/10 games the other team is stack with proto stompers , they completely destroy my team and most of the time I seem to get blues that probably out of the academy or lack experience in this game. Proto stompers have been more of a problem because lately the match making have been terrible with one side matches and redline within minutes of the game. Proto stompers have been and will continue to destroy player base in dust . |

PRoto is not the problem, matchmaking is.

Even if protostomping is addressed with proper matchmaking, it still might not work given the lack of players available. Think about it. At any given hour, there are about 2000 players online. At least 1/3 of them are in pubs, 1/3 are in FW, and 1/3 running PC.
Now picture each one of those 1/3 being spread across over a dozen regions and then spread further apart across multiple star systems per region. If all the fighting were spread across less regions and less systems, matchmaking would work better. Unfortunately, we're spread too thin and we need more new players. This is why I strongly recommend CCP to improve new-player recruitment via the recruiter reward system so that veterans like me can bring in new players. But other things need to be addressed before we even get to this point.

It's not the proto stompers more then it is the lack of matchmaking . I myself do not have a problem with anyone wearing pro because they earned it and regulation about that should not be considered but going against stacked squads of notable corps that q-sync pubs and get together and squad stomp random players is more of an issue and that's because we don't have a matchmaking system and the MU factor that was suppose to help to create a more even match is just not working .
Get matchmaking together and this game would be so much better and start to retain more players and also have more traffic because this is one of the biggest complaints .
People talk about lack of numbers but I just don't believe that has anything to do with rationing better composited matches , if this game had a matchmaking system then it would have to deal with the numbers in the first place regardless of the actual count because that has nothing to do with creating a more balanced match .
Higher skilled and SP players should go against each other even if they have to divide the mechanics to create matches composed of those who run in squads v.s. squads / high SP's v.s. other high SP players .
There has to be a better way .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

the problem is not proto players they can die as fast as anyone else even a heavy with 1k ehp can be downed in under 2 seconds and if you're good with a plc all it takes is one shot, the problem to me is lag and hit detection I run std gear most of the time because its cost effective even if I die 5-10 times I can still make my money back easy without hardly trying and when I do try I can easily double or triple isk won compared to isk lost. this game isn't for the avg fps player and if you play it as that you wont have a good time learn as much as you can about the game first before you start to make assumptions just like eve online dust has a big learning curve but once you get past that it tends to be pretty darn fun. |

as much as i believe peopel who have spent time and effort to get proto gear should be able to use it, i also believe there needs to be an area where you can get away from it. i've made a couple of suggestions in past of being able to select security status of space which limits gear used as follows
1.0 - MLT (No Vehicles) 0.9-0.5 - MLT/STD (MLT Vehicles) 0.1-0.4 - MLT/STD/ADV (All Vehicles) 0.0 - Anything goes
seeing as playerbase is pretty low that'd cause havoc with matchmaking and possibly too difficult to implement so my other idea was 'Academy+' a gamemode that is limited to MLT only and a follow on gamemode from the academy where Vets can go in with new players and teach them the basics, earn some isk and build SP up without being thrown to the wolves straight away.
