Is there actually a practical reason to double tap when there's no enemy triage units around, or is it just dustspeak for "I HAET U!"?
Horrifying? That's a strange way to spell "romantic".

I double tap everyone. Just to make sure.
Mostly because I'm that ******* who carries 100% Kaalakiota Nanite Injectors.

Don't forget that if they call for help, then it could indicate to their team mate with an injector that an enemy is still nearby. I double tap in order to conceal my location.
Can you ever be absolutely certain that a cloaked scout wth an injector is not hiding a few meters away? Can you be certain that a vehicle isn't going to appear out of the blue with a medic inside?
If you let the corpse remain on the ground, then you are allowing them to continue broadcasting information to their team. |

Doesn't it reduce their clone count immediately, rather than 20 seconds later?

Is the passive scan still active until the clone is terminated or respawns? |

Since hardly anyone uses nanite injectors anymore its the quickest way to make them spawn in again. If its a proto stomper ill triple tap them with my teabags. If your female... lets just say yoga is in session before teabagging is commenced.

Yes, it bleeds out the enemy clones faster, which can be the difference in a win or a loss. It also forces the enemy to use their entire spawn timer on links, points, and CRUs rather than it having it count down while they are on the ground.

It makes sure they take longer to respawn, so that you could get a head start on the hacking of the CRU or whatever. |

Yes, clones still transmit their scans untill they are completely terminated. You can even scan a bleeding out scout on the floor and get a margin of error which can keep you paranoid for no reason.
So terminate those clones as soon as possible, I carry only explosive weapons so clone termination is always instant.
