Remember the January 2013 ISK+Assets wipe when DUST swapped servers?
Yeah, I'm purposing another wipe. That'll fix all the 24/7 proto stomping. And maybe to alleviate it a little bit start all e current players (not newly recreated ones) with 2.5M ISK
And let us keep our BPOs

Then Dust has failed the most fundamental purpose of a game: fun. To simply accept that battles should just be one-sided is to accept a game is not meant to be fun.
That being said, the idea of wiping everyone's hard-earned assets every time battles get too one-sided is ridiculous and impractical. That's a wipe in like every two months, if not more frequently.

I've been here since mordus private trials, bud. I know how to get ISK. I'm seriously considering this though.
And it would change it for more then a month, trust me. Even if you grind a entire month in full BPOs, you gonna be able to run Proto for maybe a week.

Imagine Scotty queueing in two different teams with relatively decent players. On paper, it'll appear to be an even playing field for both sides. However, let's say Team A has four different players who cannot contribute to the battle because:
1. Taking a shIt
2. On phone
3. Exercising in the redline
4. Jerkin' it
With 1/4 of the team preoccupied, how could Team A possibly win against Team B if both sides are only on equal footing in a 16 vs 16 player scenario? With four players gone, Team B wins by an effortless stomp. There is no way to remedy this problem. |

Same. Only time my isk reserves take a dive is when I decide to donate 5-10+ million to a Corp.
One of the contributing factors as to why Chromosome was so enjoyable was that pro gear was a rarity... and more expensive.
Squads of 4 and an abundance of potential also helped Chromosome of course.

I know how to get isk too, that's why I have over 100 mil legit. No pc boosting or any kind of goofy tricks, I worked and busted my arse for every sp and isk in my bank, never afk farmed or anything. I paid dues to run proto and I usually still run adv, unless I want that extra oomph...or I'm playing logi.

People can run 24\7 proto with less isk than you think. It's all about how good you are.

Oddly enough, I play better in adv gear. I play much more cautiously in proto and it usually gets me killed lol. I run proto logi so I don't have to choose between needles and a scanner, my other slots are always reserved for reps and ammo.

Some of us have made colossal investments in our characters. This would cause me to leave the game immediately and without hope for a return. Not everyone gained their fortunes by grinding when money in pc was ridiculous. |

In all other sports, there is a ranking system whereby players/teams are matched against others who are on the same level of skill progression.
Nowhere else is a professional player matched against a total noob. Noobs play noobs. And pros play pros.
Because we use match balancing and not appropriate team building based on skill level, we end up with a mish mash of noobs and pros on the same team.
^^^^^^^ This is how it works in the armed forces. Maybe that is the feeling that CCP is going for, not the feeling of a sports competition.
It's not fair. It's war (although we place silly constraints on ourselves to prevent us from competing too hard).

Sorry but what??? I run proto 24/7 and at the end of the Day I'm always positive, the only days I go negative is when I try to ADS.
This will change nothing cause onesided match is not caused by suits, it is caused by stacked teams, personal skill and teamwork. Newbs would still be Newbs.
One of the few assaults you'll find in a PC match!

Ya know good players will be using proto very shortly after that. Do you know why? Cause they are good at the game and barely loose suits. Unlike scum of your kind who struggles to get a decent wallet with the help of BPO's.

One sided matches are caused by all the solo players.
That's as simple as it gets. There are multiple layers on the issue, but you've got droves of players with no idea how to skill up, fit, or approach the various suits/weapons with their own weapons deploying solo match after match.
You've got veteran players that don't try to win matches, they are only focused on getting kills or they are grinding ISK in passive mode.
Besides the removal of auto-squading when they bumped squads to 6, the crappy payouts and lack of inventive to win have slowly eroded team play. To the point where it's common for me to win a Dom with 95% shields remaining on MCC and go 2-3.
If you are a dude that runs to a turret installation at the start of a domination, then it's time to look in the mirror instead of complaining. If you are a dude that can't go positive, but deploys solo, look in the mirror. If you tank, ADS, or LAV and you end the match with fewer than 1000 WP, look in the mirror.
Everybody likes to blame corps and squads, but matches are filled with solo players going 2-12. It's a team based game. Use a bit of logic.
