Whatever it counts, it sure isn't a countdown to my death, otherwise I wouldn't die with five seconds on the clock. So what does it represent really? |

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Are you talking about uplinks counting down?

The timer for when you are in the redline. It is very inaccurate. Sometimes you die before it is done (8 seconds being the worst I've seen.) Other times it does not stop after you are out of the redline and back in the safe area. Just keeps counting for no reason, you are clear and will not die.

Other times it does not stop after you are out of the redline and back in the safe area. Just keeps counting for no reason, you are clear and will not die. To add to why this might be happening, I have 2 theories.
First theory is for why you die in the redline before the timer count is up: Clock shown is actually kept locally. The clock is UI setup but the real time is setup on the server. In some cases, the PS3 will "lag" (framerate stutter, drops frames, etc.) and your gameplay will stutter. This causes the clock to stutter and not actually countdown during a small time period. The client now thinks you have 5 seconds left on the clock, while in real time, the server counts to the full 20 seconds and instagibs you.
Second theory is for why the timer keeps counting even though you are in OK territory: You have entered a point where the redline is. The clock starts. You return back into the battlefield at another point in the redline. The return is not properly calculated (bug) and the client side timer continues to tick. Meanwhile the server says your safe.
I've had a Python run into Aerial Redline territory and cruised along in it until I had about 8 seconds left. At 5 seconds, I crossed back into safe territory but my timer still counted down. I watched in horror as it counted all the way down to 0.000 seconds and was relieved when I wasn't turned into a tumbling fireball in the sky.

No idea , just check it when team was getting protostomped and the timer does actually go down to 0,
Maybe protostomper got to cocky and it is death at 4 seconds if your team is winning at all damage is auto death in the red zone, ( I was killed by a flux and it said 0 damage) |
