I skilled into Caldari Sentinel thinking it would be good as a sentinel , but to many people cary fluxes now . Also I lose almost all my battles just to people having more eHP and moving faster than me. The Caldari Sentinel is the Bst for Forge Guns tho ! 1 sec shield depleted recharge delay is where it's at !
Ok now I want to get a Sentinel that can get logi support and be the sentinel that holds the objective and could be a solo sentinel running reps.
I think the 2 that play with this play style are the Gallente and the Amarr.
I want to be not to slow but , at the same time , have more than 1000 armor for a logi . Alsow ould be nice to be able to run 2 complex damage mods . The gallente looks like it can offer that .
Now I know the Amarr can get the most eHP out of all the sentinels. I know its slow and tanked. I heard that with the projectile resistance it is quite good ...
So I am asking from thos who are skilled in both to give me a little comparison from their experience ....
Thanks and have a good day !

I have Amarr Heavy 3 and Prototype Minmatar Logistics 5. If I see a Gallente and an Amarr Heavy with HMG's, I will follow the Amarr every time unless it has noticeably less Armor.
It is that reason why I went with Amarr rather than Gallente, though I also hate those damn dirty Gallente bastards. Anyway, the Amarr does have more EHP. The bonus it has are, unfortunately, split between Shields and Armor but what those bonuses are for is the big difference.
Rail Guns are the bane of Sentinels because of their long range and popularity. Having a 10% Shield damage resistance for them helps when your Heavy is caught in the open and that nasty Caldari weapon is gunning for your slow moving buttocks. The big one is the 15% Armor damage resistance to Projectile Weapons. At the moment, the only Heavy weapon in town for reliably killing infantry is the HMG which is a Projectile weapon. That counts for so much extra HP when it is Sentinel v Sentinel.
The Gallente is a close second in my mind. It's bonuses are quite good and possibly even better than the Amarr Sentinel. 15% Rail and 10% Projectile Armor damage resistance means that it isn't in a weird place like the Amarr where one bonus does nothing if there is a Logi doing constant Repair. It does have one extra High rather than one extra Low slot meaning it can do double damage mod. You can't really go wrong picking this one, all things considered.
For me, it came down to that extra 5% damage resistance to HMG's. Both will be quite slow anyway so I wouldn't let that affect you too much. Both are really good. I don't think you are making a bad decision using either one honestly. When/If there are other Heavy weapon released that are meant to kill infantry, the popularity and power of one heavy might very well change but that is a ways down the road.

Beasty go Amarr. To be honest I don't got gal one but can't remember when I lose 1v1 or 2v2 both with logis both side to this suit. Only when ganged. That I must say The key is to forget about armor plates. Use feros and armor reps and learn how to strafe. In my opinion in your optimal range You don't need second dmg mod. Also Amarr got best bonuses to it's ehp. |

Gallente Heavies work good for Heavy vs Heavy fights, you can pack on a fair amount of shield onto your fits allowing you that extra buffer where you are taking reduced HMG damage.
Obviously your still a heavy and it can take a little bit for that shield to return after.. But it does enough when needed.
Then we look at how the bonuses work with Amarr vs Gallente Sentinel.
Gallente Sentinel Bonus:
3% armor resistance to hybrid - railgun weapons per level. 2% armor resistance to projectile weapons per level.
Amarr Sentinel Bonus:
3% armor resistance to projectile weapons per level. 2% shield resistance to hybrid - railgun weapons per level.
It's a toss up on how you play and personal preference with slot load out. I prefer the Gallente's health pool and slot layout with all armor resistance bonuses..
When im running my Logi? Doesn't really matter what heavy there is for me to support aslong as they are slaying.
Logi's somehow think that repairing the target with the most health yields them the most points. It's about Guardian points as much as a heavy that is a damage sponge, You ;look for the effective players first over the suit. |

Go for amarr. Why? That's why : 1. The Empress will give you free slaves. 2. It has better bonus that helps in HMG v HMG fights. 3. 4 low slots. 4. More HP. 5. Caldari's best friend [alliance] 6. It's better for solo and team play. 7. gall is bad looking. 8. Amarr's gold works like kevlar.

I'd go with the Amarr. If you only had one heavy frame, I'd probably pick the Gal as it can be a serviceable forger in addition to being good with an HMG. Since you have the forging covered with your Cal sentinel, the Amarr is the better choice as you will only need to use it for HMG.

As a lot of others are saying, Galsent is geared more towards being a bit faster and possibly having better reps and higher potential for damage. Amarr is better for tanking. I have Galsent to adv on an alt, and it works okay, but it just doesn't work as well for me. I run several Amarr fits, one for FG, one for logis, and another for being faster and better repped. Mobility can sometimes be the key rather than tanking. I feel for you. Calsent is just horrible if people bring fluxes. I can tear through most Cals anyway, but once you get past those shields, they're just paper.

I find it odd how a Caldari Sentinel has a 1 sec depleted recharge, but a longer normal recharge. Usually it would be the other way around, but lol whatever. |
