So, DUST is a team-based game. Teamwork is OP. Get coms, get squad, win. Join a corp to start having fun.
That said, how long should one play per day to really soak in the social richness that only DUST provides?
This is a prototype-level sig. I worked hard for it, and I'm going to use it every time. So, just get used to it.

at least 26 hours a day, on all 30 of ones alts.

I recommend between 1 and 6 hours.
Any shorter, and you don't get to experience the full soul-crushing awfulness.
Any longer, and psychosis begins to settle in permanently.
