How do I lower my Mu rating? Scotty is a dick and keeps putting me against stacked teams. Here is a summary of my last three games.
1. My team vs Squads of Outer.Heaven and Skill if God
2. My team vs Squad of Rebellion LLC (not too sure on the name)
3. My team vs Nyain San/Chan
Prior to these games, I was squadded with Alldin Kan and the exact opposite happened where our teams would stomp the living daylights out of the others. The only decent fight we had was against Himiko Kuronaga's team, but that took place at their redline!
Boooo... Mu and Scotty are aweful! |

Lol, it ain't the Mu. It's the small playerbase active at any one time and the tryhards getting lumped with the casuals and noobs.

Boooo... Mu and Scotty are aweful!
This about sums up my experience over the last 6 months playing ambush.
Hence my switch to Domination which is slightly more balanced (and fun) in my humble opinion - even my alts with 11m SP each don't fare to badly.
No more Milkman1 and his squad who only play to enhance their KDR. |

If you are a solo player, then increasing/decreasing Mu does little.
It is and always will be like a coin flip.
If you are a semilarge-large squad player,
THEN your Mu will start to affect in your desired direction.
If you want to affect your Mu to lower it...
Not pretty.
Suicide en masse to lower kdr,
and afk farm to get slighty below 50/50 win rate in order to lose matches.
Pro-choice!

Its a myth that matchmaking puts you vs better/same skilled players. In fact it still puts the worst scrubs vs the best players so they can be farmed like cattle.
Bright is the opposite of dark! Who would have thought of that?!

From what I've gathered, the best way to lower MU is to lose and stay in the match the entire time. |

I love these, people who do everything to increase their w/l like leaving battles, cru camping, etc, get it in return by having their mu increased past their actuall skill level. The system must think your mu is equal to a squad of nyan. LOL.

So, you're assuming that I'm one of those people who boost and pad their stats? LOL!
Sorry to break it to you, but as a solo player, my W/L and KDR are shit. Here, take a look:
All Time Win/Loss: 1.17
Weekly Win Loss: 1.21
All Time KDR: 1.70
Weekly KDR: 2.38
Total Deaths: 20,000+
So, please explain to me how such shitty stats equate to an Mu equal to that of a squad of Nyain San. |

Low mu won't keep you out of matches with stompers.
It just shuffles it so the mu scores on each team are roughly even.
EVE Online is what you get when engineers attempt to create "fun" without consulting someone who comprehends the word.

I wish Rattati would respond to this thread. He did a fine job months ago explaining the Mu concept and what he hoped to achieve. But we have never heard whether the results were positive or within his design expectations. I personally concur with the idea that there is a matchmaking system based on Mu and said system is failing due to smaller than avg online population.
But that theory is as much horse **** as any other because the only one who really knows what the deal is isn't talking.
