Not really a trick but, turn off mic in options and close chat channels. Also deleting some of your fittings seems to help.
Was having really bad frame rate drops, game breaking bad for my limited skills 
Saw thread about chat channels and tried it along with the other stuff and it worked!!! Overall 75% less battles with low frame rates. (By the way I am running the old 80g fat boy)
What really sold me was when after doing this and I noticed all was well...
I got a low frame rate match and opened my chat screen and it was full of conversations on two different channels... Happened multiple times. (And yes I know gallente research facility has problems but this wasn't that map)
Question, is chat conversations stored in ram? Could a back log of conversations clog up my memory that's already stretched thin?

If this is the case, then maybe CCP should have the channels off next patch during a match. Just have the team, and squad chat open when select is pressed.

they are encoding the text messages so they can't be deciphered by outside parties who might use a 3rd party program to infiltrate the corp they are going to PC with.. a little lag from the deciphering software here and there is worth the price to keep channels secure from corporate espionage.. a salute to CCP in this effort.

Same trick different year..
The majority are placebos, you'll feel alright for a little bit, maybe even play a little better.. Then here in a few weeks you'll try another method, and another.... I remember the days when everyone played on 480p because it took away input lag...
Its unfortunate because you normally don't hear **** like this outside of PC Gaming.. Dust comes along and everyone is modding and tweaking their PS3's to get the game to run at a solid frame rate.. lol.. |

Also, those blue shield hit indicators you get when bullets don't register on your target ? Have no fear! That is data being sent back to your clone to calculate Ehp, Resistance, and ISK efficiency. You can leave that battle knowing your next engagement will be in your favor!! |
