Can't get a single got damn kill without one shooting me in the back or popping out of nowhere with 1200 Armor with 3 minmatar logis on him

Idk about you but when I used to play and I quit playing last week heavies are easy to kill it just depends on your situation. If anything heavys need more dmg output cuz a basic suit can kick its @$$ in cqc and mid range. I can do it and so can you. I believe in you.

only issue is range of HMGs. theres too much similarity between the 3 varieties that there isn't really much reason to choose one over the other. other weapons have tailored roles, breach is up close, tac is precision ect. with the HMGs its all kinda RRAAARRRGHH!! and hope to kill someone. the standard hmg's range was upped which pretty much killed of the assault version and the overheat changes to the regular hmg's have buffed the bursts back into favour.
my ideas were
HMG - mid range, slower rof, higher clip size, lower heat buold up, lower damage. prolonged defensive weapon. not be all end all killign machine but can fend off several attackers whiel awaiting backup
Assault - kind of what the burst is now but 30m range, and regular fire not burst,, high damage,higer rof, small clip size. used for breaching and clearign out a room of a few guys in short sharp engagements.
Burst - longer range, using the burst fire to supress ranged targets, not neccesarrily to kill them but to keep them busy while teammates flank them
