For a second I was excited for Amarr and Minmatar vehicles. Alas, it's just the old stuff we already had and were taken away. Not sure it even qualified as new toys.

I doubt they will change all that much to be honest. If they do hopefully Rattati has looked into the balancing numbers Pokey Dravon or Thaddeus have suggested.
Those numbers presented are very fair and balanced and hopefully will reinforce and intended role for tanks on the field while at the same time making them competitive but not as powerful as the current shield tank.

Ideally the current tier of HAV will be slightly less efficient while the return of the old vehicle types will allow for higher levels of gameplay.

Agree with you, but there was oceans of difference and perfection. I simply miss black ops and marauder tanks. They were beasts talking about tanks, simply as that, if one didn't live that era, one will never understand. Right now I would like to see minmatar and Amarr tanks, with their respective turrets, instead of just a reintroduction of what we already know.
